Hi guys,
I need to buy a new backcountry skis.
I ski especially in european Alps.
I got the opprtunity to have great deals both with K2 or volkl.
I'm 147 lbs, 5.8 height.
My choice is between :
Seth Vicious 179 or 189
Maiden 179 or 189
Volkl Karma 184
Volkl Gotama 183
The snow is sometimes powder, but often it can happen to find hard pack on it as well.
And often there are a lot of trees, so maybe a long ski would be difficoult to handle (especially couse i 'm light weight)
Can u help me?
M.

man... if you ever have a chance to get cheap Volkl skis, go for it.
I smoke and ski trees;
You're a real skier if your ski gear is worth more than your car.

If you'll be in variable conditions, i would say go with either a 184 Mantra (or 177 if you can get that) or a 179 Vicious.

I second the vote for the Mantra
it's got the same size shovel as the Gotama for great float, it's got an even sidecut for hardpack (doesn't hook up) and it just rails
Mantra: 130-94-113
Gotama: 130-105-122
I own a 184 and I'm 200 lbs so you probably ought to go 177, it's a stiff ski
the Seth Vicious is also a great ski so make sure to demo it

Thanks a lot.
Maybe the mantra is more indicated for freeriding ,
So u seriously think taht 177 is enough for me?
