im in the same boat as you cuz i dont know if im gonna be able to get enouught $ for the gl2 so i dunno the optura is a sick camera but i want the gl2

i have the same exact issue. i want the gl2 of course, but it is much more expensive. im thinking about just getting the optura xi and a fisheye for it

I think I would really consider it. The gl2 and gl1 are a lot of money and the Optura is still a great camera. If you have the money no question look into the gl2 or gl1, but if moneys tight, and still want a sick 3ccd camera, that might be the best way.

^thats the thing, i dont know if the Optura Xi has 3ccds, it just said it just said it has a (someword) that seperates the blue,red, and green colors

i have the opturaXi...it is not 3ccd, but it still takes some sick footage. get it and a wideangle lens, and you can get some really sick stuff. I love my Optura.
ill be super rich and own mt.hood and let everybody from ns ski for free... except freezed

Optura Xi. Overpriced for a camera with a fairly small 1ccd sensor (1/3.5). Lens is good and manual control is good. Main advantage is OIS and RGB colour filtering.
Just go for GS250/150 instead. Colourwise, 3ccds look better than one. it's cheaper and still uses a good lens.
