Golf Cart Speed Limiters

My buddy and i play golf sometimes and we were wondering if there is a way to take off the speed limiters on the golf carts, anyone know how to do that

theyre cvalled governors and ive been in carts that have them disabled but i dont know how to do it

Or at our golf course where I work, we have gas golf carts and they go much faster than the electric ones

its not hard. depends on the cart though, if you work there yeah its easy to get away with, but if youre renting, you look suspicious. Best way is to find a big hill and take it out of gear if you dont want to get in trouble.

yeah i work on a course and its pretty simple. On most club cars it's next to the battery under some filter thing. You just gotta move some wires around.
It can be sketchy turning at full speed.

shorten the throttle cable by about an inch. Most golf carts you can just flip around where it mounts to the carbs. then, when you step on the gas, instead of the carbs being just barly open, they are fully open. gas club car carts will go about 45 mph, but they back fire like a bitch when you go down hill. carful tho, cuz golf carts at 45 is sketch.

all, I do it tap the medal as fast as I can when I go down the hill, some carts have governers others don't.

my brother work at Capp Golf course, they had races and shit, sounds fun

in the carts where i work, all you have to do is towards the back of the engine theres a wire connected to a 3 inch pin, if you push the wire down the pin and clip it the cart goes about 35, not hard to do at all

On the ones where we live, u just have to lift up the seat and crack this little plastic cover thing. Under that theres a wire and u just take that and stretch it over this metal piece.

its easiest to do on a club car cart

their governer is about a golf pencil length from the axle to the governer being fully pushed in.

so lift the seat.
find the governer by looking for a lever that moves when you step on the gas.
wedge a pencil between that and the rear axle.
hold on to your nuts.

whoever says 45 mph is an idiot. Golf carts cant get more than 25 usually maybe a lil more but not much-you guys morons. And dont tell me i dont kno i freakin been workin on a course for 6 years now and im gonna be workin on the rest of my life.

i used to work at a golf course near my house, and my buddy did that to one of the carts when the practice hole was partially flooded, and we got some hydroplane 360s goin on, and then he went off a 4 foot cliff backwards by mistake, while the owners were having a meeting on the patio overlooking the practice hole.

i was at a golf tourney today. all i did was drive the carts around and piss off the old guys working there, then be very nice when i talked to them later on.

lateralis and vtrider are both correct.

i worked maintenance at muskoka woods and we used the carts all the time.

if anyone has been there, like starting at the top of the hill where the skate park is and racing with my other maintenance friend in another cart in neutral all the way to the bottom where the rollerblade skatepark is. then we throw on the parking break at the bottom and make huge skid marks.

i also rolled a cart as well. i was fortunate that it didn't have a top on it so i could jump away from it as it rolled.

A guy near me is selling a golf cart that goes 65 m.p.h. He put a 250cc engine in it. it also has a stereo system. hes only sellin it for 450 because he needs money fast to pay for his d.u.i. fine.

yea up at the camp the mechanic swapped in a ski-doo motor into the cart, unfortunately it wasn't working.

i got hit by a golf cart at work last week, that sucked. my co worker threw an eighty pound bag of sand on the accelerator, that made it go pretty fast, ouch... still bruised.....

needless to say i didnt even know what hit me.

You don't have to move wires, it is very simple...ive been doing it for a long time at the golf course I work at. Under the seat, which you can lift up, there is a spring like mechanism that you can pinch with your fingers...if you break a tee in half and open that thing up and jam the tee in it to keep it open, it disables to governor. Be careful though; sure the cart ends up going like 30mph, but the reason they have a governor is so that the oil in the cart doesn't burn...you can end up fucking up the cart pretty bad and getting in a lot of trouble.

me and my friend went golfing in SC. and we went off-road golf-carting. it was a lot of fun. my friend did donuts, and i got thrown out of the car. and we all most tipped it. it would be so much fun to take out the gov.

I love how this dude is selling off his souped GC to pay for his DUI charge... I can only imagine the havoc he caused on the course in a cart with a stereo and a big engine.

for club cars it is easy. there is a black cover at the back behind the seat but infront of the clubs and lift that up. (ours are screwed down) and there is a lever with a cover and pull it out and up and put it back in and the govern is off.
