Windows xp pro?

alright, that windows xp cd that comes with your computer that you can use to reformat it. does the xp cd work on just the type of computer you bought? i have a desktop wtih the xp pro cd and then my laptop witch has home edition on it, if i pop in the pro cd and reformat will it fuck it up?

depends.

if its just a straight windows cd and not a specialized OEM version from a manufacturer it'll work fine.

If it's an OEM version u may have some problems, but it may still work.

well on it it says for a dell pc only, and my laptop is a dell inspiron 1100

tossing it on a laptop theres a good chance you'll have problems because of specialized hardware. You wont really fuck it up bad....just soemthings might not work right the first time

yeah drivers will be the only issue...plus you'll probably get some bullshit dell branded stuff on it as well.

just make sure u can track down the drivers for all the shit u have in there, or else you'll be running at 640x480 forever hahah

^hahaha i know exactly what you mean, thats why i am reformating again, cas it was stuck in that fucking small screen, but i have the drivers now, i just have to install them...at least i think its the right drivers

should work fine. no real reason to have pro though unless your are a semi poweruser or a poweruser.
