Friggen ipod

I'm extremely angry right now and figured I'd let everyone know....

Ok so heres the story: I hadnt used my 20 gig 4th gen ipod for about 2 months (for no particular reason), and about a week ago, i tried using it, and the bitch froze up, so i reset it, and i got a folder with an exclamation mark. So i say to myself "thats kind of odd". So i check the apple site, and it tells me to reinstall the software, format the ipod hardrive and all that crap, so i do and i still get the same problem. so now i say to myself "this really sucks", so i decide to try to send it back on warrenty. It turns out that my warrenty expired june 9th, so in order to get my ipod in working order, i would need to pay nearly 400 bucks (cnd). Now i figure i might as well buy a brand new one if im going to be shelling out that kind of cash, just so i can get the warrenty again.

I think im going to email them and see if they can hook a brother up... if not ill boycott apple and just buy a creative zen or some shit...

oh and ive already had my ipod replaced once under warrenty because the damned charger dock got cracked..

yeah so im pissed..

ive had mine for a year and works fine. toady i just realized that the battery life is longer than it was for the past year

YES! someone finally agrees with me. ipods for overrated like crazy. they slap the ipod and apple name on it, and they add 100 bucks. go for some else like creative, iriver... look on ebay!

get a dell jukebox they hold more for less money than an ipod get like the 30 gig one for 300 and ud only get a 20 gig one if it was an ipod

i bought a 6gb mini for $180 bucks off a friend cause it was doing that thing and i called, they sent me a box, i put it in the box, sent it away...came back 3 DAYS LATER and it was a brand new one with a friggen appology note. it was a form appology but still..i was pleasantly suprised. its working absolutely fine now

I am aware of the beauty of apples customer service and repair methods, but the fact that my warrenty expired earlier this month is the problem at hand... also the fact that somehow during the course of 2 months while my ipod was kept safely in my desk drawer, it went for a shit and stopped working, thats why im pissed

yeah so i sent them an email, and now i only have to pay shipping (30 bucks), and they're going to replace it...
oh yeah they also gave me another 6 months on my warrenty

so im a little less angry now

soney network walkman. Im having the same problem with mine. it is 29$ to send it in for warrenty. still worth it for me but if i had to buy a new one i would totally get a soney. more song storage (becuase of the format it uses), much longer battery life and about the size of an ipod mini.

yeah the dell jukebox shits are fucking awsome. if i didnt listen to my palm piolot as an mp3 i would get that. but i like my palm cas i can listen to music and then watch a movie, play a game, and take pictures if i feel like it.

I like the way iPod's navigate over Dell's and Creative's, which are the same thing seeing as they use the same firmware. That's just me.

My 20GB 3rd Gen. iPod's HD was having some trouble before. Brought it in to an Apple store and had them exchange for a new one. I had the AppleCare plan though. Just sack up and spend the extra $60 (USD) to buy that plan and bring it in and you get a new one instead of paying $400 CND for a repair/exchange. Plus its nice to have that extended warranty.
