i dont like oakley a whole lot... it is sooo overpriced, i mean, who spends $300 on a pair of sunglasses... shit, and it doesnt look all that good, at least in my opinion

I don't think that Oakley stuff is bad quality. My jacket kicks the crap out of my old North Face one. I was in Whistler last year so I saw a lot of different weather and my Oakley stuff never let me down.
Yes, there are better technical clothing lines out there but you mentioned none of them, like Marmont, Arcteryx (sorry for the spelling), and the North Face stuff with GoreTex XCR. I would really love to have jackets and pants made by those companies but I really can't afford to spend another $900 on a new suit this year.
I really like the look of Oakley stuff but if I came home soaking wet everyday I would get pissed. But I don't so I keep wearing it.
I don't really care that you don't like Oakley (everyone obviously has their own opinions) but can you give me one reason why I should support a company like obermeyer or spyder over Oakley?

ok, i see the point you tried to make, but the examples you used were horrible. the north face, are you serious? their gear has been of low quality ever since they were taken over by jansport a couple years ago. and that stuff is way overpriced, and definatly more about fashion than anything else.. i mean come on, how many highschool girls rock TNF at the mall? too many. it's fashion. and Obermeyer and Descente have ALWAYS been about fashion. Obermeyer makes tight pants and fur trimmed gold buttoned ski bunny junk for your mom to look good in the lodge in. And you don't think Descente changed their name to DNA for fashion reasons? of course they did. They just want to be cool with the kids. Too bad they are a bunch of retired racers, and yuppie globetrotters. Oakley is the LEAST fashion oriented company you mentioned. Their gear is simple and functional. clean lines, solid colors. it's all about utility. and it's about as high of quality as you can buy. the only companies surpassing oakley in tech are Arc'teryx (which nobody can afford) or Cloudveil (which nobody knows/cares about.

yeah, and i got my oakley gear dirt cheap, you just need to know how to get it, and i think that most people on this board do. don't complain about the price, just find a hook-up like everyone else does.

hahah oakley isnt fashion oriented, thats great... some of their shit is overpriced, liek the unobtainable jacket and pants of whatever which are liek a grand each, but their shit is dope so obviously ppl are still gonna guy it
