Armada's break guys

I got T Halls at the start of the season, now they are completely destroyed... Delammed, edges are coming out, bases are elevated and pieces of the base actually came out. I know alot of this was probably because of rails but not all of it. My friend ran over my tip with his snowboard by accident just quikly and i saw the whole tip delam, it was pretty fucked up... and the base coming out was not from rails because it was on the tip... anyway im just telling you this cause armada said they wouldnt warranty them because i skied on them until the end of the season when they say they have a one year warranty...

Armada Warranty Policy
Ski Warranty Policy
All Armada Skis are warranted for one year from the date of purchase against manufacturer defects. Alteration of Armada products will void warranty. Warranty claims are to be made through the Authorized Armada dealer where purchased.

For more clarity, the following are examples of problems not covered by warranty:

Impact damage caused by rocks, stumps, rails or any other contact with a surface different than snow.
Scratches, chips and indentations in top sheets.
Graphic fading or discoloring, if due to misuse or neglect.
Minor base irregularities including base elevation in binding inserts area.
Ski damage caused by improper mounting or adjustment of bindings

how the fuck can you get a warranty if it doesnt cover any of these things?! anyways guys if you want a ski that will last definately DO NOT buy armada

^ hey i'm glad you ressurected this. i dont want to re make my points about how all skis break, and its not armadas fault because no one warrentys that, BUT i just noticed that you reviewed the T Halls and gave them 5 stars! hahah. i love it.

any ski will break or have edges come out but some just take longer for that to happen and will take more abuse armadas just seem to come apart sooner

why are we still discussing this topic? lets face it, skis will eventually break when sliding across a piece of steel with quite a bit of force. All brands have these problems not just one company. unfortunately skis are not 100% error proof.

my ar5s bases got some mean core shots, but my edges are wonderful, and just alot of chips on the top sheet

have you ever thought what's the "right way" of breaking skis and getting them warrantied?

warranty doesn't cover rail damage or misuse of the ski, only manufactural mistakes are covered. if you land on your tails it won't be covered, because they can just say that it's your fault that the ski broke.

it feels like the only way to get your skis warrantied is if you break the during a carving turn, which is pretty fucked up because twintip skis are made for jumping, not for super-g.

after another 2 weeks of abuse in whistler, mine are still goin strong
although high on the ski, almost at the nose, the edge is pushed it and there's a little bubble in the base from it, but it's not anything major

then your local shop is crooked. they dont respect kids probablly. dont go there. i feel for you man, you get fucked over alot, but no matter what the kid who posted above me says, armada is a great company. and skis take lots of abuse. and they cant warrenty them for something that was your fault. actually your friends, but yours.

Dude the t-halls sucked n e way all skis fall apart after a season of hard use my pe's have no edge underfoot the base is pretty much solid p-tex and the topsheet is chipped like crazy. However if i hadnt done a shit load of p-tex work my skis would be in a million pieces you gotta give a little to yer skis and take care of them as best as possible if you want them to stay in good shape all warnatys are void once you do rails think about it metal on metal hard impacts there gonna fall apart

Armada is a new company. I loved the t-halls when i rode them but it is a new company so it will take them time before they are making bombproof skis likw k2 and line

no they didnt suck at all. theyre the best jib skis made so far. I spend more time on rails then jumps and mine are perfectly fine

im not saying armada is a crappy ski company or they make crappy skis... i just feel like i got fucked over by my local ski shop... pretty much the only one that sells twintips in ottawa and got a little fucked over by armada

fuck ski warraties... my friends snowboard was completely destroyed and they gave him an even better one... like with snowboards if you get a freestyle board they give you a warranty against rails... why would that be?

i just despise the fact that ski companies are free to advertise their skis on rails, alot of the time on urban rails even. but when we go and use our skis in the way that they advertise, and the skis' condition naturally degrades, the company will more than likely turn their back on the customer.

my experience with the rails/warranty issue was a positive one, fortunatly (coincidentally, it was also with T & L). the edge on my volkl expression was ripped off of the side of the ski for about 75 cm, but not cracked or broken at all. just ripped out. to top it off, the wood core exploded, leaving wood chips all around the rail where i bailed. the initial response from volkl and the shop was that i wouldn't likely get anything, because the ski was damaged by a rail. but volkl later took a closer look, and since the edge itself was still intact, and only been pulled out of the sidewall by the rail, it was in fact a manufacturer's defect.

my situation was/is an exception to the rule, though. most companies tell you that if there is any evidence that your skis have been on rails, it makes the warranty void as far as edge damage. i say BS...make some proper edges, and progress the sport while your at it, rather than having to make your customers think twice before hitting a rail, wondering whether it will ultimately cost them another $500 or not.

hands down the best warranty among these types of skis. sitting at the office i have seen stuff that clearly was done by rails and urban jibs get warrantied for another set of skis. that is only my experience from hanging around the office.

hitting a rail at 30 mph would be pretty fucken fast. id like to see that. anyways ive had ar5s for 2 years now, ive taken those things to the streets everywhere on the hill as rock skis and I havent even cracked an edge. the bases has been shot a few times but its easy to fix, there a bombproof ski if you ask me.

how are the 2006 AR5 on rails? will they fall apart? because if that's the case then i'll look elsewhere for a ski.
and yes i agree that it's faulty advertising to see a pro like tanner hit a rail in an armada ad, but then not have the ski warrantied for rail damage.
but then again, having so many people break their skis on rails really leads me to question whether they are actually sliding rails correctly in the first place.

dude,if ur sliding rails your edges will crack fall out and get generally fucks so rail sliding ability doesnt have a lot to do with it. and who brought this back. i thought this was over!!

fuck you for ressurecting this. this whole thread is annoying as fuck. you idiot. they are skis. they are not made of wrought iron. skis break. even mad trix. this is completely you fault. your friend ran over your skis. the tips on your skis were raised because they are twin tipped skis. a snowboard with metal edges at full or even 1/2 speed running over these tips (that arent made of dimonds, but infact alot of wood and plastic and shit) WILL BREAK THEM. THERE WAS NO STRUCTURAL DEFECT AT ALL. THE SKIS WERE NOT DEFECTIVE. THEY CANNOT BE WARRENTIED.

Armada skis don't have a 1 piece edge. There are two little slits in the edge on either side of the tip. One piece edges are more liable to break due to stress and vibration, so Armada puts tiny little gaps in 2 spots on their edge around the tip to combat things like edge cracks and delamns due to tip slap on landing, etc.

Basically, if you can't get Armada to warranty your shit, you abused the fuck out of it and didn't deserve a warranty in the first place. I've seen some THRASHED Armadas get warrantied, and seen some with broken off tips not get warrantied, because they weren't a warranty case.

i started reading through some of this but gave up. hopefully you get your stuff warantied, but to defend armada, you have damage from rails and somebody riding over them, which is not covered. if you would have cased a table and they delammed, i'm sure they would've given you a new pair right away. the problem is you have some possible manufacturing damage but there is also rail damage and the gash.
