Armada's break guys

I got T Halls at the start of the season, now they are completely destroyed... Delammed, edges are coming out, bases are elevated and pieces of the base actually came out. I know alot of this was probably because of rails but not all of it. My friend ran over my tip with his snowboard by accident just quikly and i saw the whole tip delam, it was pretty fucked up... and the base coming out was not from rails because it was on the tip... anyway im just telling you this cause armada said they wouldnt warranty them because i skied on them until the end of the season when they say they have a one year warranty...

Armada Warranty Policy
Ski Warranty Policy
All Armada Skis are warranted for one year from the date of purchase against manufacturer defects. Alteration of Armada products will void warranty. Warranty claims are to be made through the Authorized Armada dealer where purchased.

For more clarity, the following are examples of problems not covered by warranty:

Impact damage caused by rocks, stumps, rails or any other contact with a surface different than snow.
Scratches, chips and indentations in top sheets.
Graphic fading or discoloring, if due to misuse or neglect.
Minor base irregularities including base elevation in binding inserts area.
Ski damage caused by improper mounting or adjustment of bindings

how the fuck can you get a warranty if it doesnt cover any of these things?! anyways guys if you want a ski that will last definately DO NOT buy armada

i agree, I got ar5s and after skiing them 4-5 times, the edge cracked in 3 places, the base stuck down like half a centimeter and they would fix it due to impact damage. I did rails like 6 times and never fell. They advertise their skis as park skis which means rails, and then don't warranty them. It sucks

armada warrentys JUST LIKE ANY OTHER SKI COMPANY. STOP BITCHING.

THEY ARE ALL THE SAME. NO ONE COVERS RAILS. DONT TELL THEM RAILS DID IT. SAY YOU LANDED WEIRD ON A JUMP AND THEY SNAPPED.

stop complaning in numerous threads about how bad armada is. they are amazing skis. if you cant handle snapping a ski and having to buy a new one, dont ski. it happens. A LOT. think about all the poor people with TM's that the edges get demolished. dynastar knows they have faults and replace very well. armada does too. its your fault, not armadas. they have some of the strongest edges out there. yeah the T Halls are ment for rails, and they will get more torn up than you're average ski. but you CANNOT blame armada for doing EXACTLY what every other company does.

Ok, to be fair, they aren't the most durable skis in the world. I seriously fucked up my Ar5 bases, but a bit of Ptex and they're back in good form. Sure, there are more durable skis out there. But I still say they're the best overall.

Note to the ski world: ALL SKIS BREAK GUYS

Some just faster then others, and some have be designed to take more abuse then others, but ALL SKIS will and can eventually break and get damaged, stop livivng in a dream world.

Its true you cant expect people to warranty skis from rail damage, thats like snapping a skate deck and expecting a warranty board. But it sounds like this guys skis were faulty, all that delaming is'nt normal

^ exactly and they were being super gay about it... i mean i saw my ski delam right after my buddy ran over it with his snowboard... and hes not even that heavy either maybe 140 tops... if my skis werent faulty then armada just plain SUCKS... and yes all skis do break but if my skis werent faulty, which armada is basically trying to say when they sent them back to me, then armada skis break pretty freakin easily

Then buy another ski man, but the warrenty sounds about right. Why schould they give you a free ski if it is your fault that they broke. To keep your skis pretine all you have to do is not hit rails, or jumps, or rocks, or stumps, or ride them at all.

I love how everybody expects Armada to give them new skis when they abuse them. I broke my one of my ARV's clean in half! The only thing holding it together is the base and edges. I sent them in for warranty along with a nice email to Tyson, but you don't see me bitching and complaining do you?

Skis break, just because you had a complete disregard for yours doesn't mean you're entitled to another pair. It's the same with any company.

Yeah, I think just because ski companies warranty their product many people think they are entitled to a perfect product somehow. I mean, look at what you are doing to them. Grinding metal against metal, tons of force from landings. Honestly, I am surprised skis dont just snap some someone cases a big table or something.

we'll they market there skis saying there meant for rails and meant for jumps... i mean T halls are MEANT for rails and jumps... so they shouldnt break when you do them... they also cost me like 800$ when i could have gotten another pair of skis for have the price that would have lasted twice as long

So... you somehow spent 200$ more on your skis than the MSRP?

You're the only person I know of who's had this type of problem with a pair of T-halls, and the Armada warrantee is fine, it's comparable to Line's and anyone else's.

so basically the only way they will warranty them is if u just use them just for skiing on trails which is kind of dumb considering that they specialize in twins. but then again so many people abuse their skiis and they would loose so much money if they would warranty everything.

^^ they should at least warranty defects... like alot of my stuff was from rails even though they should warranty that... but alot of it wasnt... which is dumb cause they are basically saying once you hit ojne rail with your skis your warranty is gone... so now i just dont believe in warranties... there are no such thing as warranties

No ski is meant for rails. Skis are made for snow.
Nowhere does it say the T-Hall is meant for rails.

"Armada - T-Hall Signature Model

This is T-Hall's first signature model. Designed with a jib-focused goal in mind, T wanted his ski to have the same sidecut and basic construction as the proven AR5, but wanted to change the flex pattern to help take his skiing to the next level. Tanner's own flex pattern is stiffer under boot for stability with softer flexing points in the tip and tail for nose and tail presses, butters, and whatever else he wants to do. He also wanted the factory to round his edges under boot so he won't catch and stay smooth on rails.

Terrain: Park, Urban
Features: Edges that are rounded under boot, T-Hall's jib flex pattern
Construction: AR Core torsion box construction, ABS Sidewalls, Carbon Fiber Stringer, 2000 Base, new nylon top sheet.

Price: $575.00"

It says the edges have been rounded so they stay smooth on rails. But it DOES NOT say that rails will not damage the skis. Only a moron would believe that.

skis made of carbon/wood/fiberglass + 30 miles per hour + 150 pounds of weight + contact with steel bar = skis get fucked up after a while. No such thing as a completly "bombproof" ski


i beat the shit out of my ar5s for a full year on rails and to the day I sold them, there absulutly nothing wrong with them, only a few deep cuts in the base

Warranty's are for manufacturing defects. If you could proove that those skis didn't have enough resin to hold them toghether then you'd have a valid claim. But some dude ran over your skis...that has nothing to do with the manufacturing of those skis...your buddy fucked them up. Get over it, that had nothing to do with the manufacturing or design of those skis.

No ski company can warranty rails because rails hurt skis, plain and simple. I wish they would warranty them getting abnormally fucked up, but there's no way a ski company can tell if you snapped your skis in half simply grinding or trying to do a 270 on with too much air and slamming your tips onto a rail. I saw a kid ride a brand new pair of chronics into the parking lot, do you really want line to have to pay for that retard?

seriously kid. your main point is that the ski delammed. and that happened when your friend ran over your skis? use some business sense here. how is armada gonna make any money to even stay in business if they replace skis that are run over or slid on rails. that's just stupid. you are a retard for bitching about this. there also something called wear and tear. if i get a hole in my jeans, i dont try to get them warrentied. by your logic, if i hit a snowboard against my tv, i could get that warrentied too.

you know, i kinda want a new jacket for next year, i think i'm gonna go rub it against metal til a seam breaks so i can get it warrentied.

eh withen two weeks my ar5s were missing about 20 inches of edge. i just made makeshift edges out of epoxy and that worked fairly well. im missing more edge now, like around 35 inches, but oh well. the only thing im pissed about is that my edges were popping out of all 4 tips, but whatever. at least they didnt snap like my lines. mad trix are the closest thing to a bombproof park ski

In the early days, Line would warranty skis against rails. Then they stopped after realizing that it wasn't possible. If Armada warrantied every ski for rail damage, their skis would cost like twice as much as they already do; otherwise, they would be out of business.

Unless you're doing 40 foot gap to uphill rail, I don't htink you can lose all that edge in 4 days on snow.
I think he also meant collectively, like 7 or 8 inches off each ski.

they were cool as hell to me when mine screwed up.. anyway, id say snap em.. no company can not warranty a ski that snapped.. no skis should actually snap in half... so, word..

im missing that much edge after about 40 days, one bit is 23 inches, plus other bits on one ski, then about 14 inches on the other ski, plus little bits (collectively 51 inches, yikes!), but my edges snapped my first day on them at whistler around thanksgiving. lost about 1 inch that day. but whatever, they still work, for the most part

urban stuff ruins skis fast. if you ride urban rails with cement then they will get messed up quick.
Also figure how many times do you guys jump and slam the ski down. I know some of you kids are down right park crazy and throw down, but any ski cant and wont hold up it to that everyday type of pounding.

I agree, I think that armadas aren't as durable on rails as other skis. I have the original ar5s and noticed the first crack in my edges after two days of skiing, and since the skis had only touched metal rails about 10 times in those two days I know where you're coming from. But, even though they are completely messed up after a season and a half, I still think that they are a pretty good ski all around.

its not just wear and tear though zoo lander guy the base under my tip peeled off and i sure as hell didnt hit anything... and i bet you it costs armada about 100$ or less to make t halls and i paid about 800$ for them so if this shit happens there still gonna have a fuck load of money if they give me new ones

plus i also would have put a good word for them but i cant... but one company i can put a good word for... lets just call them rossignal i can because they gave me warranty on my bindings cause they werent fuckin retards about it

skierboy_26 same thing is happening to my t halls with the edges popping out of the tips... i think the problem with 05 armada skis was the tip construction was shitty cause my friends and my armadas are both fucked up pretty much only in the tips and tails of our skis
