they won't be too small, but they will be too soft if you're a heavyweight 5'10. they have about the same flex as the '05 1260, just a little bit poppier, so consider that. if you're looking for a park ski, a 178 invader might be a better choice.

i think it reely comes down to what your more into the elizabeths are gunna be great in the powder and the invaders will be great in the park what you have to decide is what you do more or are more interested in and choose accordingly if ur looking for something more for all mountain the elizabeth is prolly the way to go because of the semetrical dimensions of the invaders this may cause problems with short or long turning radiuses but i'm not to sure because i have never seen this symetrical idea used before in a ski i say that you shood wait to read some reviews on the invaders before you buy if u are interested in the all mountain skiing choice

why does everyone say the elizabeth is the same flex as the 1260. have you rode them. they arent the stiffest ski, but i would not call them a soft ski by any means. especially for a park ski. and if you think the elzabeths are too soft why would you recommend him the invaders. they are both park skis, however the elizabeth would obiously fair better in the pow. it has the six hole pattern too, for whatever you want to ride. the elizabeth was designed for someone aroudn your height.

as for the invaders, they are sick. i woudlnt worry too much about carving in them. the old orange 1260s with the DJ on them (back when line was sidewall) were symmetrical i think and they carved fine

about me weighing too much im very skiing i only weigh 133 pounds, another thing i was thinking about is if they hold up well. Meaning ski to ski contact do they chip and get gashes in them?

check my profile hemlock. i own both the '05 1260's and the elizabeths. yes, i've ridden both. yes, you should take my word for it. something you should note (and something that i always note when i make the flex comparison) is that the lizas have a really similar flex to the TWO THOUSAND FIVE 1260. the 2005 1260 was stiffened up significantly from years prior, which is probably why you're confused. the '05 1260 is definitely a medium stiffness park ski, not soft (as you said) by any means. if the elizabeth was compared with an '03 or '04 1260, then, you are correct, it is significantly stiffer. and i made the recommendation of the invader (assuming he was a heavier rider, which he's not really) not on the basis of flex, but on the additional length that the invader offers.

the elizabeths get more chips and gashes than the rest of lines skis because they are sandwich and not cap, but they don't chip any more than any other sandwich construction skis. nothing to worry about really except cosmetics.

they are siiiiick as long as you come out with your feet below your head youll stomp anything on the elizabeths they hold up really good and are super fun all mountain ski!

its the first line ski ive ever really considered purchasing !

on a side note next years surface fat skis will be 175 in length and 2mm fatter and much cooler graphics! plus they are a super sick company! watch for them!

Y im worried about chips, is that i own the 03/04 AR5 and they are thrashed with gashes on the topsheets so i can see the cosmetics, and i just wanted to get a ski that would hold up better my Armadas, because ski to ski contact would just kill my skis, some of the chips go down to the core, i figure line will have better material

^well the armadas from your year were notoriously undurable. lotsa people ripped out edges and scratched their topsheets, which was fixed for '04-'05. the liza's have a dull nylon topsheet that's similar to the new armadas. the chipping isn't much of a problem anymore on either ski.

how can you compare the invader with the liza's? those are two waaay diffrent skis.

they're not being compared necessarily, because you're right, they are totally different. but they do some of the same things, like rip the park, which is why he's looking at both.
