aiight, well thanks to you guy's imput (and other stuff mind you) I've narrowed my choice down to a MAC. Now the big question is, do I want to spend 1 thousand$ more (canadian currency of course) to get a powerbook 15" (1.5ghz, with 512mb RAM expandable to 2ghz) or do I get an ibook 14" (1.33ghz, 256mb RAM expandable to 1.25ghz) post away !

i have that exact iBook and it runs soo smooth...but im upgrading to a powerbook soon for more memory...powerbooks prolly last longer as well because of their steel casing, my iBook just seems really fragile and the screen bounces alot if u bump it.

you would get a powerbook if you want a better videocard and slightly more durability (metal case). I love my 12 inch. If you don't think that is worth 1k cnd, then get an ibook. pwesonally, I gogt mine so I could still have a pc desktop for gaming, but run final cut and so on, so it was obvious...

the powerbooks are definitely durable...a heavy (albeit small) statue fell on mine and there's a small dent but no damage to the screen or components. such a good buy.

i used to have an iBook but it turned to be shit in the long run. it just sort of died out on me. i have the 12" powerbook now and i'm in love with it. but as of this exact moment i am on my dads 15" and i like this size a bit better. i will be moving into a dorm room soon so mine is better sized for thqat but i would say go with the 15" powerbook if space isnt a constraint. the iBooks are not as good as powerbooks for really anything in my opinion.
