DO you think that more than 200 people have stop buying MSP's films because of your post? I don't think you have affected more than ten. As far as industry figures go and this effecting: MSP is sponsored by big companies that understand big business. Yea Salomons team manager and HH marketing guys check this shit out. But they work for far bigger companies than MSP will ever be. These huge companies do things to cut out their competition that makes this shit look like childs play. So are MSP's sponsors going to read this shit and cut of there sponsorship. Fuck no. So why don't you tell me exactly how all this is killing MSP's business.

I figured the trailer would be decent and everyone was just hating on it cause it was MSP. Then I watch it and it completely sucks. It was like yearbook but worse. The shots were less creative and the skiing wasnt that good.

Ok, I kind of agree with all the MSP haters. However, if you put aside the absolute unoriginality and whatever you found was crappy, take a look at the the skiing. Most of it was made up of huge big mountain lines, a few booters here and there, and it was all very good and cool to watch(unfortunately in Slow-mo...) in my opinion. And even if MSP pisses you off so much, don't take it so seriously and personally, put your standards down, fast forward the base skiing parts and big mtn racing segment, mute your tv and turn on some good music, and enjoy the movie for the skiing and editing(dont deny some parts were good).

Like poorboyz and level1 who always has the same exact footage for peter olenick ans simon dumont. Now that's really creative.
I mean I'm sure if half of you didn't know about the level1 thing etc you wouldn't bash it as much and if they sell taht many copies it probably mean some people like it.

Look at any Plehouse film, shots are amazing the editing flows really well. Look at Wicked, probably one of the most creative, original movies I have seen and the editing is just ridiculous. You would think with a budget as big as MSP's they would also put a little bit of thought into post-production. I mean if you are gonna put that much into getting amazing shots might as well make the movie worth watching.

narration is by far my number one beef with MSP movies. that's like seriously 75% of why i don't like their movies. and i have to admit i've never seen a TGR movie, so i can't vouch for how much they narrate, but if they do i'm sure it would bug the fucking living goddamn shit out of me just as much as it does when MSP does it. i don't fucking need someone telling me how "epic" skiing is. i've skied for 20 fucking years i know how fucking "epic" skiing is. MSP narration reads like a mad libs, "we went to _______ and the snow was just _________ and the conditions were _________!!!!! __________ parachuted off this ________ and it was so _________!!!!!!" or "we spent __ weeks in _________ and the weather was ________ the whole time and i never got to ski and broke my ________" all you need is a little blurb at the bottom of the screen that says where the section is from, not someone saying how long they were there and how good/bad the conditions were and how fucking epic the lines were

it just makes me want to break my dvd player and go murder baby kittens

i can't say i've seen a bad trailer this season. teddbear and white shine really did it for me, and while the content wasn't as good in this trailer, the shots, editing and all that were awesome. (also don't get me wrong, there was some sick stuff, that shot of benny was sick)

I have much love for all of MSP's skiers, as well as Gaffney. My only complaint is the lack of business ethic that I perceive. Dishwalla, we know you hate MSP. Sno-man, you complain about dishwalla hiding behind a screen name, but you are doing exactly the same thing. You say you're a skier, but who'd know that, you have no pics or videos and you hide behind a screen name. JD May is only credible because he's been on ns forever, like sno-man, jd has not one shot or video of his skiing in his profile. In my opinion, neither of you have any credibility until you show me what you can do other than blah blah blah.
If I buy anything it will be Berman's movie, he's a good guy doing something real with great skiers.

Leaving aside for the moment the fact that plenty of people on this site have been skiing with me, do you realize how ridiculous it is to base the validity of people's arguments on whether or not they can ski well? That goes faaaaar beyond fallacious. For example, I'd like to have some respect for you based on the fact that you run an outerwear company that actually makes tech stuff, but the sheer nonsense you post once in a while makes it difficult on those occasioins.

I just thought this quote about MSP from the "review" about the trailer on the freeskier site summed up my opinion pretty good.

Seeming that none of my favorite haters will answer my orignal post maybe we should do a post and take a poll. We could make a post that ask guest to reply if they will not buy MSP products this year because of what they here on Newschoolers. We can find out how much all this trash talking on MSP has worked. We will make a thread that ask " Who will not buy MSP's product because of what they hear on NS". Then we can count how many people all this shit talk is effecting. what do you think? You say 60'000 folks are listening, let see how many care about it. Remember if MSP sells 40 to 50 thousands copies we need at least 400 post to make it a 1% difference in sales.
