first of all, this episode was hilarious.. but more importantly, it brought up topics that everybody needs to learn about. the three seperate episodes spoke of - cloning, gun control, and genetic modification. not only did it expose these topics, but it showed, albeit exaggerated, the effects of these controversial issues. i think matt groening and the entire simpsons empire should be commended for its efforts! (just for the record, how many people actually picked up these issues??)

Definatly picked up on those issues. Pretty blatent in respect to some of the other episodes political-socio viewpoints and themes. Ever episode from The Simpsons can be dissected into a political-socio arguement or statement if you wanted to go thru all of them.

The Simpsons crew has always taken a strong opinion on the gun control issue (the whole NRA episode when Homer gets the gun comes to mind), I didn't really think the last one had much of a point to make seeing as how Homer decided to become an animal in the end and it was intended to be a spin-off of the Island of Dr. Moreau story (I think thats the movie I'm thinking of). But yeah I didn't tihnk it was a real hilarious episode, but people don't realize how difficult it is to provide a complex story line with comedy and even a view point on a particular issue, in this case in only 7 or 8 minutes because of the haloween special format of 3 stories in 1 episode.

Except for the gun story, I didn't realize what they were really referring to. I guess I don't have a good opinion of the new Simpsons episodes so I didn't expect them to talk about issues. This Halloween special was okay, but I still like the older ones more. They had more dark humor.

ok compared to the other halloween episodes this one sucked. now don't get me wrong i'm a die hard simpsons fan and always will be. I've seen every episode at least twice. but the seem to have run outta ideas. everything is the same. The last great episode was tomacco!
