Well, whats your worst skiing moment ever?

Mine was at wsi this year, when i cracked my rib. I went into the main village square thing while my friends went to the athletes tent, i couldnt move and i could barley breath, then of all things the tea party comes on and does a live concert (probably the worst music i have ever heard). How about you kids

at sunday river for the trilogy tour, i landed straight on my side and ended up hurting my hip and right arm, never got them checked out but ehy swelled like crazy and it was shitty to walk

or at ec open the day of the rail jam i was hitting the s rail in the slopestyle course then all of a sudden i tweaked out my hip again and i nearly cried. it was the shittiest thing ever hiking up to the rail jam course with my hurt hip and also not being able to compete
and i couldn't find a good place to sit down either

When I broke my leg when I was 11, it was on a pow day and I missed 2 more pow days that week, it would have probably been the best week of skiing in my life and it was in upstate NY so we don't get much pow so it was a rare delicacy, but my leg was broken.

2 years ago, I had just spent a whole lot of money to fly myself over from Oz to canada for the season, entered this pre-season rail jam outside a small shop in VC. I hit the rail up a bit, then on my last go for the night, fucked it up completely and broke my wrist. I missed the first 6 weeks of the season...

However, the shop dude felt sorry for me, and gave me a new jacket to go with the goggles i won earlier.
So it was a bit of a double-edged sword.

that really sucks. Im so glad I haven't had a pre season imjury. I guess my worst skiing moment is not skiing. I had a bunch of ski trips that were cancelled.

i cant take him[liam downey] seriously cuz his name reminds me of that downy bear from back when i was a kid -d loc

I don't deny there are bad things in the US right now, hell, 51% of the country to be exact. But god damnit, our country being fat is NOT a problem. I do't give a shit how fat people are. hell, fat kids are harder to kidnap, that means our country is safer.

catching my skis on the snow on the side of a lil pussy 5 inch high rail and hitting my chest on it, couldnt ski right for a month cuz of that..and thats why i dont do rails shorter than a foot and a half any more

i overroted a cork 7 because i overcleared a big jump by about 20 feet. landed right on my back aand jacked it up really bad, i could hardly breath for the rest of the week, and the worst part was i had the ec open rail jam that night, so it was super hard to hike

Something similar, except that in my case the rail was about 5 feet off the ground and my ski got stuck in a hole under it due to my poor on-jumping. One leg stuck up under a rail, anotherdown with the rest of my body... twisting thing. It hurt a fair bit. Tore a muscle or two, missed a few weeks and have barely jibbed anything since.

It's hard to think of bad times skiing though, I've been lucky with injuries and the like... most of my bad times have involved other people getting hurt or buried.

scariest- cartwheeling/tomahawking down a steep chute in whistler, edge caught a rock at the top, luckily didn't hit my head on anything but i rolled over numerous rocks.

most painful- 80 ft. table at Marquette last year, overshot it about 15 ft. with a 3 that turned into a 450, face hit my knee and teeth bit into it, 2 teeth broke off in my thigh and i got knocked the fuck out. bleeding from nose and mouth, it was my 5th concussion. that sucked.

1.) two seasons ago when I caught an edge approaching a jump and flipped over the jump onto my writs, broke it, cracked my a frames and chipped my skis!

2.) last season when i went 5 feet outta the pipe and landed flat and flipped in onto my thumb and ripped ligaments and broke it in 2 places (i ski'd the whole day on it)

3.) this season when i cased a jump and shattered my heel leading to surgery and extensive physio which im still doing!

oh yea and skiing down phillipes at mammoth (redonk steep chute) and discovering that the chute we thought was skiable had this small cliff with a very rocky landing. then trying to scale down it, getting my ski stuck in the rock, takign it off and free falling for 50 yards.

one of the best moments in my life followed right afterwards when i realized i was still alive.

when my equalibreum in my ear senses that I am off balance and causes me too fall at a rate of 9.8 meters per second. If i crash really hard the next day when I am sore and my bones are broken I feel like quitting skiing and joining a bowling league. then I go out and realize skiing is just a little cooler and more fun than bowling and I repeat that process

I front flipped a big cliff this winter and landed in a bombhole and put my knee to my jaw which dislocated it and put my two front teeth through the skin below my face and gave me about a 5.5 inch laceration in my mouth at the bottom and 4 incher right above it from my two rows of teeth, I couldnt eat right for a while, yawning hurt, laughign hurt,exc. My friend posted a vid of it in the big mountain section its pretty funny

Two worst moments:
First learnign how to do a rail that had a jump up to it at keystone, i fell like fully on my chest. Hurt like a bitch, then the next day, tried my first zero spin, my tail caught the lip of the jump and i landed on my back but slammed my head hard. I had a monster headache for like 2 days

yeah, thats defenitely one of the worst. there was this setup at my hill, with a 50 footer, and half way down the inrun to it was an outrun from upper park onto a different trail, so the lil kids would hike back up the crossover, and then ski right down the inrun towards the jump. well the 2nd time i was hitting it switch, some lil kid did that, and i thougt he was out of the way until the last second when he wobbly turned back onto the jump, at that point i dumped a lot of speed, and then still hit the jump, and landed right in the middle of the deck

i was skiing Squaw and it had been raininf/snowing on and off so the snow was super wet and heavy. i jumped some cliffs without realizing it, landed and compressed like a mo, rolled down the rest and cracked 3 ribs. didnt let them heal what with skiing and springboard diving being the same season.

this year in the tahoe backcountry skiing with tom wayes. he tried a straight line through 3 different cliff bands. on the first cliff band he caught a rock and toubled throught the next two. he flew about 60 feet off the last cliff band to his face.

when he stopped toublin' he was face down in the snow and knocked out. brad holmes happened to be there watchin' and rallied his snowmobile up to him. i was shoooting across a valley and couldn't responds as quick as brad: he said, "he's knocked out and not breathing."

i was 9 miles away from a phone and drove my sled 90mph to this point. i was crying the whole way cuz i thought he was dead, for real! i called life flight, they took forever, and we got him to the hospital.

tom ended up with a punctured skull (through his helmet), a strained back, a fractured upper arm, and a disclocated helmet.

this past march when i died so hard. i broke 3 ribs, bruised my kidney, internally bleeding and messed up my ovary so now theres a good chance i wont be able to have kids. yaaaaaaa. landed myself in the hospital for 2 weeks. and im getting surgery in 9 days. def the worse skiing moment ever in my life.

i've torn my acl broken cracked fractured and bruised many bones torn lots of shit compresed things and internally fucked myself up a lot of times. but nothing was worse than the time me and my best friend were sessioning this little gap that was like, a ramp from a mtn. biking course, over this ditch.... i tried to three it but i sketched because there were a lot of trees and i was nervous about having long skis and having them hit the trees and shit. so i didn't pop and ended up coming up short and slamming my tips into the ditch and slamming my face onto to thre ground... directly into my pole. i fucked up my jaw and my nose but the worst was biting a whole through my tongue and sending my teeth through my bums really bad... braces are like having a million little knives in your mouth.... it sucked. i was bleeding from every one of my facial orfices.

This isnot the worst moment for me, but definately the worst for my buddy and the worst thing I have personally witnessed. We were up at pyramid gap this season and my friend was rediculously stoked, so we let him go first. He tried to 180 it on the first hit and cleared the gap, but landed on the short flat on top. His pole hit him in the face on impact and he started tumbling backwards. He flipped 3 or 4 times and his knee hit him in the face. He ended up breaking his nose, cheekbone, eye-socket, several teeth, and his jaw in 15 places. He had also just gotten his braces of a week before. He went through like five surgeries and he's okay now, but he has two plates and thirteen screws in his jaw for the rest of his life, and he needs braces again.

Went on a Trip to the hill (nashoba) and they had one jump but it was a roller so we were hitting it from the sides cleareda 20 foot landings flipped back pulled every muscle in my back

breaking my wrist doing a handrail this season and having ski ski no poles with a cast for a good 2 months, and then breaking my collarbone the day i was declared healed from my wrist.
