I was in Vietnam 1 month ago, they have it all over Laos and Cambodia too. It looks, smells and tastes foul. After one sip you WONT drink anymore and yes I guess it is really strong- sometimes it's whisky inside, sometimes wine. They also have scorpions, birds, bears! (with a cobra latched onto its face at times..) and all sorts of other 'wines'.

i got a bottle while i was in vietnam. it burns like hell going down though. its pretty cheap and it looks really cool to keep on ur shelf. but dont drink it, its definately not meant to be drunken.
