What happens if you are an american and get a speeding ticket in canada? Can the canadians do anything, I am hoping no.

they will forward it through your state drivers bureau
if you don't pay it. and you will eventually get a registered letter from your own governement asking
you to pay up. With lots of extra fees attached
there may be a couple of states that don't participate
but I know that all the New England ones do.

well he can come and go as he pleases with no problems as long as he dont get pulled over in the state where he got it. if he never paid it you can guarantee he has a warrant in that state oh and also be careful going through certain states they might extradite

I got a ticket in Canada... I paid it, but I don't think it went on my record in the US.

I think if you don't pay it and you wanna come back, they will either refuse you entrance, or charge you ALOT more than what the original ticket was.

my dad got a ticket in one of the east coast states a while back for going 2 miles over the speed limit. He never paid for it because they kept adding charges to it. Now whenever we go through that state, my mom has to drive.

I"ve managed to get pulled over 9 times now, and escaped with only 2 tickets, the first one was 32 in 25, and i just paid the 101 dollars, no biggie. Then I got a Neglegent driving, for spinning my tires at a light (horseshit, it was pouring down rain, in a manual, there is a thread on it) and that 683 dollar ticket got deferred. So as long as there ar no tickets for a year, then it dissapears. I once got pulled over doing 80 in a 40, with 4 people in my car, didn't have my license, at 2 am, with no proof of insurance, and he told me to just get off his road.

^ yo that's insane, neglegent driving tickets are that costly? wtf is the rationale behind that- i spin my tires all the time by accident because i also have a standard with shitty tires

^exactly, the conditins were ridiculous, and Neglegent driving is a criminal offense, you go to criminal court, not traffic court. It sucks, but the judge was understanding and gave me a deferral
