haha yeah version... there are 12 versions of PS2 i believe and there are 8 versions of x-box...
- XBOX v1.0
- XBOX v1.1
- XBOX v1.2
- XBOX v1.3
- XBOX v1.4
- XBOX v1.5
- XBOX v1.6
- XBOX v1.6b

the only true was to find out is to open it up http://www.xbox-scene.com/versions_1.php

^correction my friend, their are reasons they release new versions... differnt BIOS, more enhanced lens for reading differnt format of video and DVD. im pretty sure early versions only read DVD-R, but the newer ones read both DVD-R and DVD+R...

you have alot to learn about the electronic world.

umm..mine has played every dvd i've put into it..burnt ones, new ones..except red tape, it didn't play that.

no more buying games... stream media from your computer. drop a bigger HDD drive into it say a 250 GB and use it as a computer with a 52" big screen TV. play emulators from all your classic games from any old console. download games and send the .ISO image over to the box and play it flawless.

basically what im saying is you can turn it into xbox 360 just without the new enhanced graphics because thats all xbox 360 is, is a modded current xbox.

xbox 360 is going to be $199.99 to keep it in competition with PS3 which will be $449.99... good call, obviously you know nothing about the technology world cuz like earlier people stated you can get a refurbished xbox for like 89.99

^the md allows me to download games and send them to xbox for play... so it comes with every game xbox has released and can play all the dvd's you want along with AVI, MPG, MPEG, DIVX, MP3, MP4
