Aite, check it out, this may just be because i'm turning 19 this summer and i never noticed it before, but i could have sworn that last year Alpine's unlimited pass for $199 was available until you were like 20 or 21, something like that, but i just looked at their summer prices for next year and a pass for 19-23 year olds is $399. That makes me sad because i was planning on using that money to buy my very own cambodian midgett that would follow me around on the ski hill and pick up my stuff when I fell down. But seriously, has it always been this way, or did alpine just decide to ruin their chill image with a price increase?

i lost all respect for alpine this year. Power trip ski patrollers and kooks in the backcountry have made alpine suck.

The patrolers at alpine are my hero's, im sure some of them are dueshole's anyways Mack 10 thats what a summer job is for dude, were else are we going to go for such good skiing ?? soda spring's? Remember how much money your not spending on gear next year.. And as soon as the team one piece is in your hand you will forget the increase.

I seriously think this is over the line and am considering getting sugarbowl/kirkwood next year for the same ammount of money. Alpine is being idiotic and people should stand up to that by considering buying passes to different areas.

Im down for kirkwood since ill be in south shore. But there are lots of hippies there and ill miss alpine, i love alpine. (we get alpine for cheap through the " UCD snowboard club" you ass clown) quit freaking out

I think its because of the damn new high speed for Sherwood. The new pass price sucks, but at least we dont have to pay $799 for the adult pass. I paid the full adult pass price a few years ago when they didnt have this young adult deal, its a sacrafice you choose to make if you want to ski sick terrain with less gapers than its neighbor.
I hope with this pass increase will result a SICK ass expanded park...that won't close early.

i think the sugbowl kwood ticket is restricted so don't go for that. i'm pretty sure most resorts raised their prices like kirkwood may have. if you buy the passes now they are cheaper. i think thats the case most places also. and the more of the d crew at kwood the more likely it will br to keep up a bigger park. plus the big mt is good. now im just rambling. blah blah blah...

I can likely solve this by making an NS Freeride Ski Team that's affiliated with UC Davis. Then we can prolly get $200 passes... That's what our bullshit snowboard team did this year (and that's why there are skiers on the snowboard team)

The fact of the matter is that alpine USED to be a good mountain until they lowered pass prices and everyone starting riding there. Then douchebag from the bay area sees tracks going into the woods decides he wants to get some powder and has to ask directions back to the moutain from the road, or starts slides above you because they have no fucking clue about being remotely in the backcountry or doesn't even know what a beacon is. Both which happened to me this season. Thats great if flatland idiots want to kill themselves, but when it starts risking my life and the lives of people Im riding with I get pissed

I do want a medal, all of us are experianced BC skier's, way to judge us because of were we live you dick. I agree with you on some thing's, alot of inexperianced people are on the hill but if you want to get away from that then dont ski at a resort. When i dont want to deal with weekend crowd's or anything like that i hit up the uncle and head over to the sierra buttes on a sled. We dont suck, we know what were doing and pretty much not gonna give a shit what you think about it. Im glad you want to keep it local ( i do to, i am up there 25 weeks a year and consider myself a half local), but its tahoe and suprise! its not a secret. Maybe someday we can settle this with a peacfull run through munchkin's but dude you shouldnt judge a book by its cover, i hope your parents taught you that.

Second I realize its not a secret, but when theres thirty people in line hiking out to munchkins its fucking retarded and this is a new problem four years ago you'd get powder in munchkins as long as the temps would keep it. Third, because of how many people are up there I probably logged more days on my sled this year then I did at alpine

I don't like the idea of a half local because there is no such thing as a half local. Is a weekend warrior a 2/7 local? Or a guy some guy who takes a week vacation here a 1/52 local? You live here or you don't.
I probably wouldn't be at alpine next year because alpine was the place to go to get away from the crowds. You could ski in bounds all morning and then get out of the area later in the day. Now you can get like five runs in and by eleven oclock ob shit is already getting raped. I'm I sure you guys will probably miss me and all, but I'm sure as shit not going to miss what alpine has changed into.

all the d-crew kids are at alpine for the same reason you are. why the hell should it matter "where you live". i grew up in south lake and i live in reno now.. i consider myself a local at alpine even though i don't live close by. i rode there about 80 times this year. it isn't just alpine that is getting swamped with gaper tourists... it's every mountain. about 4 years ago heavenly wasn't nearly as bad as it is now. what i'm trying to say is that it isn't just alpine getting raped by people, it's every mountain.. the whole world is overpopulated, so stop your bitching and just ride.

sorry to take it back to the little discussion back there... but heres something that annoys me... ive skiied alpine since i was able to walk... like 22 years ago, and have skiied there almost every season since. (ive been in utah for a few winters, but you get the idea) what i hate is when some dude moves into tahoe from michigan or illinois or some crap like that, and within a year is claiming hard core loc status and bagging on kids from the valley, who have been skiing tahoe for 20 years longer than the mid westerner. im not saying that thats the case here, because i dont know where everyone is from... its just something that bugs.
