its a calculator you keep it in your bag until you need it its a tool. makes life easier. if you dont like it give it to someone many people would be glad to have something that can help them in class and be used to play games.

I have one, but thats because in calculus it makes it so much easier. Most uni's are letting u use them now. i only got one because it was pretty much compulsary at my school

they let us use them here in New York in fact if you have a Ti 8X series you can use them on the regents.

you HAVE to get a graphin calc for college... it can do SOOO many formulas and shit auto. you will be lost in calc without it

I have an 89 titanium, best purchase of my life. I dont think I could live a day without it in math class; once you learn how to use it it's probably the most valuable thing you can take to school.

Ti-83 Plus bitches! It’s one of the best academic tools you can have. Not to mention a graphing calculator is mandatory at higher level courses of math.

that ti-83 plus will be useless on higher level courses such as prob & stat, calc 1,2 and adv tech calc... so get ready to fork out another $200 to get a 89 or a 92-plus

No big, I’m not taking statistics next semester. Even if a have to switch, its not that big of a deal. I have had this thing since my freshmen year of high school. It has been used well beyond its sale price.

yeah i mean u can use it for the simplistic formulas, but once you get into the course you cant use it... different programs on the 89 and 92-plus. i guess you might be able to write the program to do the functions.

the best ones are the Ti-89's. They actually factor for you and they work with variables instead of asigning it a randomn number

yea. I'm taking PreCal/Trig and a graphing calc is required, so my dad said why not spend the extra $30 for the best one, so I got a TI-89 Titanium. It Factors variables and shit for you!!!!. I was like damn, should have had this for algebra.

i used to have about 400 programs on mine. never had to memorize a single formula in my life. then someone stole it and i was fucked for the rest of high school because all the math i knew was still in my calculator.

every single kid in the school has a graphing calcualtor, and we use em in every class, just to play games with. they are the coolest ever, i jjust keep it in my back pocket all the time and whip it out when im bored, beats a fuckin game boy

i got one of those things. by high school, it was necessary. if you didn't have one, you're considered piss poor. so much shit can be programmed into those. i had mario and tons of other games, but my friend broke the end of his cord in mine while he was trying to transfer shit. stupid fuck. now i can't get games. we can't use them in chem (because my teacher is a stupid bitch and doesn't trust anyone), but in math, you absolutely need it, although this year we usually get quizes that calcs aren't used on.

graphing caculators are valueable at the begining of calculas but toward the end they are pretty useless because most can't grpah 3-d objects and by that point in math everything in 2d is easy. i have been told that calculators with reverse polish notation are useful in engineering classes but i do not know
