we've all heard it: 'skiing is lame' 'snowboarding is better', 'skiing is for old people'. what are some ways that you guys respond to the everyday steryotypes that our sport gets? What are some of your best comebacks?

I smile and take a ride through the park/pipe. then they usually shut the fuck up. if not I smile and crack them in the face with my ski pole.
then scrap the rest of their friends as they try to get their boots out of their bindings to try to kick my ass. bastards





give me 2 days and Ill be able to do anything better then anybody who has ever done it.

I laugh because of their ignorance and don't worry about it. I know quite simply snowboards cannot generally go as big as skiers, their tricks dont look as good and most of the shit talkers are posers anyway who could never back it up

Those guys are still in the past. I remember them from 2 years ago, and just provokin fights with every skier that goes into the park. Usually ppl that diss aint better then what they're dissin. You don't have to prove ureself, because the best skiers are allready better then the best snowboarders. We can do pretty much everything that a boarder can do times 2.

Right on. It's usually the Joeys and kids who suck who try to wage war. Most snowboarders or skiers who are any good are respectful towards each other. Otherwise, they're just dicks no matter what they ride.

i was riding a bus listening to one of my 'friends' talking about how he destroyed some kids jump before they were finished, i called him a fag for doin it and he was like 'what' so i told them if someone did that to me id shove a pole up their ass, he was wonderin why i would b carrying a pole, i told him i was a skier and he said 'if ur a skier what r u doin building a jump ne way'

I say - Wanna have some fun? Then I start climbing a big ass peak that snowboarders have to take their boards off. i'm used to hiking, so i wait for them at the top, if they come at all. Then, i just ski down, making nice long turns that look cool. Then, i wait at the bottom for as long as it takes the boarders to get down. Then i say something along the lines of, 'Did you fall coming down? Cause i could've sworn you took that whole face head first!' If they don't fall, then do something harder. Or you could just throw a 360 linkin loop with a mute grab.

WA skiers are cool. I'm a WA skier. I'm cool. You know, Washington apples are cool too. . .

if im off mountain, i usually say somethin like possibly 'fuck you' or 'hah'... if im on mountain then its like follow me,and i hike up to some steep shit... that goes with people like at school who think that they are sooo good a snowboarding, i throw out a challenge and they accept then they are like 'holly shit' and i laugh... and then ski... wow, hmmmm

ski boots are more painful than snowboard boots. just kick em. and we have poles too. great for jabbin eyes out. then there is the whole showing em up thing too. it can work, but is less violent, so I try tavoid it.

well, i have something to say about this, im not gonna be happy when its the other way around and we have tones of posers who wanna ski ('because its the cool thing to do'). im guessing this will eventually happen in the future as skiing gets more popular. right now, i kinda like its more underground industry. it does kinda bug me when some ppl know shit about newschool skiing, and theyre basing their judgements on 10 yr old warren miller films, but i try to not let it get to me, because theyre the ones missing out.

I say meh. it doesn't matter. if they're close minded liek that then why would you even want to know them. And posers make the world go 'round. People who go out and buy the newest equiment every year and just sit in the park are supporting the snowboard industry. The people who are 'good' are probably poor and maybe sponsored. And low level sponsored riders don't actually support the industry. They get free shit. I can't wait till there are more people ready to pay regular price for twin tips, that'll mean more people will get some free shit. oh yeah... SKIING SUCKS.

By the way, 2 planks will always be more dangerous(especially to ure balls), and harder to perfect. But at least some snowboarders think that skiing looks cool, and not too many skiers think that boarders suck, cuz there are fewer posers in skiing.(no offense to posers)

peta, maybe j-ho really doesnt give a shit...no prob with that..and yea its mostly the poser snowboarders that suck but then again the ads that they put out there from snowboarding drives these posers to think so..for instance that one snowboard qoute the guy said...and also a while ago there was a series of ads from another cmop too..i forgot the name but they said support the originators not the imitators and had these lil quizzes about snowbaorders and skiers...which was yea...so the cmopanies influence wat the snowboarders think, just as it does in skiing...so partly the snowboarding companies'' views make it harder for us...its just the lil snowboarders taht believe that and then give you shit
