I was listening to my relatives from chicago talk about the appalachian mtns, and they cant fucking say it right, they sound like idiots. But they also say it like everybody who doesnt live in the app mtns. ok, im gonna set you all straight on how to pronounce it. it is said as, APPALaCHIAN, not APPALACHIAN. notice in the 1st appalachian, the a is lower case, hence it is pronounced as a short sound, not a long sound. i hope you can figure it out from now on because i did a bad job describing it.

Thank you so very much, next time I visit the APPALaCHIAN Mountains I will be very careful not to make such a terrible mistake. And next time I am writing the word, I will make sure that I keep the third 'a' lowercase, since I would feel like such an ass if I were to make such a mistake as writing it in all caps.

your way off WJB, the 3rd 'A' in appalachian its a short sound. It sounds like the A in apple, not like the A in Shane McConkeys name. wow, this turned out to be a really stupid post
