Jibbing Boots

What do you think i should get for boots this year. I want a boot that is good for jibbing but it is still enough to turn. What do you guys suggest. I was thinkin either the Salomon1080 or the Lange Jib Boot. I dont want the Kneisel Rail or the Line Boot.

I would wait a year or so to get the line boots. This is thier forst year making boots so i might wait. The 1080 boots are nice, this years model should be better because I hear its a little stiffer. I tried them on the other day and didnt want to take them off. As far as the new 'jibbing' Boots go... its too early to tell, I'm going to wait until next season to buy em so i get some feedback from other people.

I am hoping to get the Atomic Beta Zone's. I've tried them on and they are pretty sick, i just need the flow now.

Get the 1080 boots and get the stiffness enhancer rivets put in. then they'll be wicked.

the Line boot is by far the best. It has a super soft setting for walking, or jibbing if your shins hurt. Then you can turn the dial, and lock it in to carve mode, AKA all mountain mode. This is the best with a flex index of i think 85 or 90, so it is soft, but not too soft. Then if your taking on the world speed record, fakie (I will be attempting this feat this year) you can lock it into race mode, which is very stiff, and also works well for jibbing shit like bridges where the stiffness is needed for quick moves, applying very fast response to the ski. eg jumping off the bridge away from the stream....JR Martinez....

I like skiing park and all mountain. Do you guys think that the 1080 boots will have too much flex to handle the rest of the mountain?

Yeah, my Rossi Freeride X boots are awesome. I'm pretty light so I don't need the added stiffness of the XX or XXX. These are the best boots that I have ever tried and they really made a huge difference.
I think the most important part is to make sure the boot fits you perfectly and they are the right skill level for you. Just go to your bootfitter and tell them what conditions you ski in and your ability level. Make sure you try on a few pairs before making a decision.

I think last year's orange transparent 1080Pro boots are just right. A flex index of 85 is great for jibbing and all mountain. Don't like that much stiffness for new school boots. Get last year's 1080Pro if you can. Better graphics and more comfy than this year's black 1080.

What you all need is my soul grind attachment for your boots. It's still in the developmental phase, but I have greased a couple of 10-foot soul grinds with an early prototype.

Soul grinds would be soooo tight if I can perfect this thing...

anyone else think soul grinds are gay. I think if we start doin that it will turn into Inline or Skiboarding where no one respects us.

You think the Gara is best? I like the really stiff boots like the T-1 or T-race, and If I don't want the stiffness I just ski with the walk lever down.

What's wrong with having more ways to grind?

As long as we still do everything and not just rails people will always respect.

I think the sport has to diversify a bit. It's getting a tad stagnant right now...

Well, the choice of the Gara was influenced by the fact that I'm a size 32 in mondopoint with a high volume (for ski boots) foot. I do think that the Squadra, Triple-G, or T-Race would be too stiff. I'm not sure about the T-1 though. Also, I need a boot that functions well all around and I find the Gara to have the right balance of stiffness/power and flex/touring ability
