Replying to Good Photography With Not so Good Camera

So, i've had my Canon A75 (3.2mp) Digital Camera for almost a year now, and i've learned it's ups and downs, tried all sorts of different angles, shutter speeds and etc. I find some of my pictures seem grainy and the colors don't stand out enough. I really enjoy taking pictures, and i always try to find something artistic or interesting, but having lived in this area for so long, i find it hard to find things that stand out. Everything seems so ordinary.

To sum things up, what are tips you could give me, or any other "beginner" photographer to find better pictures, and take better pictures with better quality.
