friday afternoon i posted a message on the schools message board, stating my feelings about the war on iraq, and how it would effect everyone in the world, and how, we can no longer live without fear, and that our country is already at war, the teacher who runs this board saw my comment as a threat to public saftety and repotred it to the principal, monday morning, i was suspended for a week, for threatening the public, and jeopradizing student safety, for telling the public how i felt about the situation, bullshit? i think so

yeah, there wasnt any threat, just how i feel that the war will effect us all (even in canada) and that its so hard to feel safe anymore, u cant even walk down the street alone at night, dude whats the world coming too, we all are afraid, And BAM they sent me on my way

every school has different students rights handbooks. you have to chekc in the office for it. my brother got suspended cuz his teacher wouldn't let him out to take a piss, so he just left, then he asked the office for a students rights hanbook, and they gave him one

schools now are so fucking stupid. i think everyone should post a message like that on the schools message board.

my friend has a nazi sign crossed out on his backpack, and the teachers tried to make him take it off because they felt 'it was a different message than anti nazi' even tho it wasn't. he almost got suspended. if we didn't have a alright principal he definetly would have. its so dumb. theres not that much freedom in schools at all.

some kid in my school has a hemp patch on his bag to support the use of hemp or something and i teacher asked him what it was and he said it was a palm tree, but schools do get rediculous with what you can say or where, defenitely fight it.

steve-o, I bet she realized she screwed up, and wasn't ready to deal with you. just demand a meeting. force her to explain anything you did wrong. post another paper on your beleifs. just don't use derogatory words. keep it simple. write about freedom of speech, not what happened to you, but, I don't know, just don't attack the principle in it. show that you are mature, and open to others opinions. be more mature than her.

well see, i think my brother was suspended for what he said to the teacher before he left. she claims he said 'this is bullshit, it's like jail. except in jail you can piss whenever you want.' i'm not sure of the whole story, but then another kid asked to go the next day and the same teacher wouldn't let him so he went anyways and he got 3 detentions i think.

What is Canada's stance on freedom of speach? Because if it is anything like the states that is complete bullshit. I believe in the USA you could easily win something like that in court (even though sueing is shitty). My school is very open on free speach and the right to express yourself, last year a gay club was started so in response awhole bunch of us went up to the principal and demanded that we can have a straight club, he actually allowed us to do it as longb as we had a sponser teacher, of course the club never went anywhere cause we had better things to do with our time. it was only for expressing our opinion and our rights. But still we all that we would get so shut down when we brought the idea to our principal, we didn't know what to do when he said yes.

schools are full of shit! my friend dropped out and went to night school. but in order to recive credit for his night school he needed to go to each of his teachers and get there signuture or something and the school thretened to take him to cort saying that since he was droped out, he was trespassing
