no , i didnt get up but i read in the paper it was foggy and wet as big mtn in the springtime. yuck. i will be there the weekend after memorial day weekend. ill probably go with parker(switch_9)

What's the scene usually like up at the pass? Are people building very much or mostly hiking up and getting tracks?

there isnt much of a scene. there are usually a few people that hike this realy mellow bowl and a few people building jumps. last year me and a friend built this tiny step up /gap thing. it was so tiny probably like 10 feet but we probably were in like 20 peoples home videos. ask volklpro what happens when you build gnar road gaps though

parker (switch_9) and i went today. it was really foggy all morning, and we just screwed around on some little jumps by the water container and shed below oberlin. about 12:30, we hiked over to the massive hip on the south side of clements. when i got there, there were a bunch of randonee skiiers sitting there talking. so i preped the prebuilt jump, stepped the inrun and landing, and then hit it once parker arrived. after a first hit shifty, and then a second hit three, both about 35-40 feet, i took a break. parker threw a strait air, a double japanish thingy, and a three to backslap. In that time, on of the other skiiers went above us, and started a slide. it sent avie debrie almost all the way to the jump. then, another guy went up and skiied right next to the previous guy, and sent an avie right under the landing of the jump. the jump is now completely fucked, and im pissed because it is extremely good location and a lot of fun, and it wont be usable for several weekends. fucking randonee skiier, he had to have his line even though he knew it would slide right into where we were jumping. I wouldnt poach his line, but he went and destroyed our jumping area. That is completely disregarding any sort of skiing unspoken rules. I am now going to be Nazi about the area around my bc jumps, because i refuse to let them get fucked over by dumb idiots. Grrrrrrrr.

If you read my post, you would realize that it was completely socked in in the morning, and we didnt get direct sunlight all afternoon. Also, are you sure you saw our jump? As in the hip that was on the far south side of Clements? We were going a ways down the landing if thats what you are asking.

Park Service, who can understand them. Anyway, I went today (Friday 17 June), and it was ridiculously wet. Plenty of snow though, and Parker and I are going tomarrow, hopefully, with better weather.

Damny. It was really wet today. Not as bad as yesterday, but it still sucked. I hate bad weather. If you get the brilliant idea to come and jump, bring a tarp to build a little makeshift tent incase you get caught in a massive cloudburst.

Fair amount of snow left, I went last Saturday. If you go, be sure to ski over the exposed sections of boardwalk, its really fun. Try not to kill the tourists though, as that might give us a bad reputation. Anyway, you take the going to the sun highway to the top of logan pass, and then hike up the trail or the snowfields to the west of the visitors center. You can hike as far as you want to, but the best jump sites are within about a mile to a mile and a half. You might see the hip jump we built, it is at the south edge of the mountain directly west of the visitors center, and is called Mt. Clemets if you care. Which side of the continental divide would you be coming from? That would help me with the directions. Let me know if you are going to come up, it should be good for another three weeks or so. I may go to my cabin down the Swan this weekend, but if someone decides to go to the pass, then i may do that.

The pass is pretty much gone. Switch_9 and i went and climbed Mt. Oberlin on tuesday, and there isnt much left to ski. You could go over the oberlin/clements saddle to the hanging valley between clements and cannon, but that would be a bitch of a hike in ski boots.

If you're still looking to ski you could probably score a line on The Great One or up on Blaze. There's still a decent amount of snow down the gash on the west face of Blaze.
