Ebay issue... cops involved??

so i sold a paintball gun on ebay and the auction states paypal only.
the kid that bought it claims to have sent me money orders.
he opened a item not received dispute and then closed it when the issue wasnt resolved.
now he told me hes going to contact his lawyers and the local authority in my city.
so my question is, can he do that? or can issues on ebay only be solved by ebay authority?? my understand was thats why ebay had security measures set in place, and if cops come to my door i dont have to tell or do shit for them.
anyone know forsure?

^ ya i did recieve his money orders but there was a problem cashing them at the bank because they were for a good amount and from a international country.
before the money orders even had a chance to clear at the bank he filed all this ebay bullshit.

If you didn't receive any money and didn't fraud him out of his product, I wouldn't be too worried. Don't forget that the police would have to prove that you received the money. Tell the fucker, that if it was a sizable amount of money he took the risk by sending it regular mail. He should have sent it certified mail. I doubt anybody is going to waste time dealing with something of this scale. I would just file a non-payment with ebay on him and tell Ebay that you are being frauded by a customer.

^ i tired to file a non paying bidder complaint but you have to do that within 45 days of auction closure.
and to this date its like 3 months after the auction closed

no becasue he said that becaue its international and that it was a fairly large check that they were having problems putting it thourgh and then this dude went all hardcore on him.......seward if i were u i would talk to soemone high up in the roster at ebay and see what u can do and what HE can do leaglly against you....also...have u aready sent him the gun and does he have it yet?if he doesnt then that means possibly more shit for u becasye then u have his money and he doesnt have anything....which in that case he can get legal on you HOWEVER becasue u cant cash the check i dont see any major problems with it.....good luck with all of this shit this is why i dont get involved in ebay.....
also.....damn that must be a fine ass gun for 1000$....angel fly perhaps?

if you never sent the gun and are still holding his money then i can see where he has ground for a suit. if you have his money and the gun i would send him the money order back certified mail to make sure he gets it.

you dont need to wait for a money order to clear. the whole point of a money order is that you have to go to the bank to get it. you cant get a money order if you dont have money in your bank account, so its automatically gonna cash out just fine. yes he does have proof he sent you the money order because hes got a receipt when he bought the money order and also the transaction in his account will show up. but if you didnt do anything worng dont worry about it

talk to your bank, find out exactly why the check isnt being cleared and then have them write you something explaining why. Then send him a copy of that explanation. along with a letter saying that as soon as the money goes through, you will send him the paintball gun.
