JIBIJIBIJ ....at least that's where everyone in CO should buy their skis from.
but since i haven't bought a pair of skis since before they opened, i'll tell you that i bought my frnt's at mountain sports outlet in silverthorne. not the worst shop you could go to, just a place with a decent selection of twins, plus the whole downstairs is a snowboard shop, with a bunch of cool apparel. christy sports is probably the most easily accessible place of business that sells twins, but i doubt too many people who work there actually give a shit about the sport, plus it's really overpriced.
i live in ft collins (two hours away from the nearest ski area) and the only place to buy twins here (aside from gart bros) is a place called outpost sunsport. only place i've ever seen Zag skis for sale (one pair for like $1100). but i don't think any of the guys that work there have ever so much as slid a rail in their lives. i heard a rumor that a wakeboard/snowboard shop up here will start carrying only twintips next season, but that's still up in the air.

well, as you can see there is a shortage of "core" ski shops here. thus part of the reason josh opened jibij. almost every ski shop on the front range is owned by specialty sports (ie boulder ski deals, ski and golf, and mountain sports outlet) or christy's.

I bought my last pair of skis at JIBIJ and will probably be a return customer next season, at least for some dope Orage outerwear if not skis. Butte & Co. in Crested Butte has a decent selection of twins (great deals on Armada throughout the season), outerwear, joystick poles and all the guys that work there are good riders and good people. A Butte & Co. employee (Alex Norton) won the sickbird award at the CB Extremes this year with a Switch Butter 180 of a 40 footer (albeit somewhat accidental...but sick nonetheless).

No he landed regular....so maybe it was just a butter 180. I get confused with the butter terminology. Somehow he got switch (not on purpose...caught an edge) on a really steep section above the cliff and then tail buttered off the cliff and landed regular. Maybe some would say there was no 180 involved at all since it was butterish, but it looked that way to me. Or maybe he didn't butter at all, he just went off switch and turned forward in the air. I saw it in person, but haven't seen any video or anything and I was fairly intoxicated.

I know of a new shop in Vail opening this fall. Its called Troys Ski Shop.
It will be in the old, old One Track Mind Location. So just up and around the corner from the club or behind Buzz's
Troy is a good guy and wish him the best of luck in the shark bowl.

What kind of shop? I mean is it like a general ski shop or specifically newschool oriented like Jibij?
