Newschoolers has become so gay recently. Skiing is selling out. If you take a look back at freeze and powder about 5 years ago, and then look at todays mags, skiing has become so lame. I swear to christ, 90% maybe 85% of u guys on hear, are so obsessed with your fashion, that u dont even car about the simple act of skiing. If you look at the clothing styles that skiing has gone through, back in da good days, people were just out there, throwin it down, pioneering new tricks and not giving a fuck if they had the newest gear or "da sickest steeze" You can also follow this change on this site. This is a god damn skiing site, and when the non-ski gabber forum has more posts than the ski gabber, you can tell this place is all about how cool u are. That same percentage of u that are so obsessed with fashion cant even ski. You lap the park all day. I once saw this guy who defined the average, "steeze out da neeze" skier. He was in our mini park, where the tables are at most 15 ft, he just goes and hucks a cork 7. I was like wow, that was probably the gayest thing i have ever seen, and it just made me realize that a lot of you are just like this guy. He stayed in the mini park workin on cork 7's when he could of gone and done them off a fuckin cliff. Skiing will get to the point where everyone will be doing the same tricks in da park, wether its a blindside 360 switch up or some switch cork 10 reverse blunt. i will say this is skiing to an extent, but what r u really doing, pointing it at a jump and then just throwing ur body, thas initial what ur doing, where as you could go ski a line and huck a cork 7 off a cliff. If skiing keeps gettin pushed this direction, there will be no where for it to go, we will all just end up doing the same damn thing. Im just speaking my mind, but seriously grow some balls and go ski a line, or huck a trick off a cliff, u'll c how much more badass a trick is off a cliff. But all im sayin is this site is gay, and i know some chumps will greatly disagree with me, but remember, how can u be the best when u do exactly the same thing everyone else does? thas not style, thas conformity to an extent. but whatever, u guys are the cool cats, psh
you sit on da net and talk about what is cool or not, so that makes u diehards!!!!! if u dont like this, save ur fingers, cause i dont care what u have to say

So they're sellouts because they someone said, "here's a contract for a good some of money"? I guarentee you that you would do the same, and if don't, you'll regret it. I didn't want to throw Johnny Moseley in this because it seems that everyone hates him, but he did the same thing. If I were him, I would do it. If skiing is all you do to make money....it's a job. Argue that all you want, but ask and Pro skier what their job is...they'll say "skier". Don't bring overpaid whiney Traditional sport athletes into this. Everyone knows they are overpaid. It may be wrong but that's what business is. They are paid millions because they can generate that amount and more for their companies. Doctors are not underpaid. Nurses are depending on your location. Wrong? yes, nurses deserve more, but most times a nurse doesn't take the job for the money.

My point is don't be so quick to throw the sellout card. They may look like a sellout to you, but to them they are trying to make money, Corporations are the quickest easiest and bes way to make as much money as you can spend.

Every single professional athlete has had to make a choice in their life about which direction to head. Be is School and a regular job with an assured salary, or a Professional athlete where you can forget about job security because of injuries. After an injury you either have to have and education, or some money to get you through the injury, and whatever comes next.

However people want to dress and act, is what they are going to do. Some people are jackasses and that's just they way they are. A community has those. You have to take the good with the bad. I'm not sure what acting like a wigger has to do with progression of skiing but...

However you make money on a regular basis is a job. Like it or not professional athletes of any sport go to work on the ski slopes, bball courts, football fields. And if you want to see insanly big contracts, look at English Premier Leage Soccer players. David Beckham?

nice stowebum, i like ur attitude. I know that pro skiiers definatly have to decide if they want more money to do what they do or to keep trying to make ends meet. Honestly, if i just got the chance to live the life, of traveling, filming, and just doin what they do, i would not give a shit about how much money my sponsors going to give me if i get a front page article. its all about the skiing, and i guess im starting to see people get too concerned with the "cover shot" aspect of skiing. If you want to make money, be a doctor, or a lawyer, not a skiier. im just sad to see people getting so gready with all their money.

Travis Rice, is one of the best snowboarders out there, he lives in jackson hole, and that kid is well off from all his comps and sponsors and everything. He doesnt act like hes the fuckin shit. If some kid just came up to him and wanted to talk, he would be so chill and just be stoked that the kid was talking to him. He even helps out our production company, which is rad as hell. This is a classic example of how money doesnt make u happy. It makes u gay as hell. Look at every rich old bastard u know, biggest prick ever, well its because hes a fat bastard with a lot of money. So im just gonna stop now and say skiing isnt about the fuckin money, because when that day comes, i will quit.

Not everyone that has money is a prick, that is just about the worst generalization you can make

You must be really hard core if you'll quit something you love to do just because people started making money doing it. Ski because you like it, not because it's the cool thing to do. That is the defenition of a poser.

my friend got compartment syndrome in his leg which means if they didnt oporate within 6 hrs he would have lost his leg. 6 opperations later he is still in a wheelchair with 2 rods in his leg and last week he got another infection. this is more serious than ur friend overshooting a jump. haha i had to laugh when i read that cause its obvious u didnt understand the sevirity of the situation

i agree with flat12yearold er whatever his name was about two things.

1. i see a lot of sw cork 10s. in comps at least. im kinda tired of those. coudnt someone come up with something different?

2. this site is getting boring for me lately.

everything else was bullshit.
