I have only seen the soft trucks for skateboards, nothing else. So, yeah as to the above comment, what the hell are you talking about?

if you're talking about mounting skateboard trucks to regular skis here's the deal.
you have to mount the trucks pretty close to the boot, ie not on the tips because skis have alot of flex meaning the middle would drag if you mounted trucks on the end. Also it's best to wear boots because you're get more leverage on the trucks that way...also, it doesn't work that well, but can be fun in certain situations, so try it.

there are a couple products out there that resemble what i think you are talking about. however, they are usually designed to simulate cross country skiing. i think if you are really concerned about it, you would be better off with blades.
I hope that some day we will be able to put away our fears and prejudices and just laugh at people

Put three trucks on each ski.
one in the middle, one at the tail, one at the tip.
That way you can lean back, forwards, and whatever.
Then to stop, you just powerslide. It might take a few tries, but you'll get used to it.
I think a rollerblade chassis or the old rollerskate wheels would work better... trucks are pretty wide.

did anyone else get that email from getboards advertising the freebord? it's like a snowboard for the street, looked kind of intertesting, wonder whether you could do something like that on skis, probably to skinny...
