my friends trying to get sponsered and he gave me a tape that i want to edit for him, I have a Digital Video Camera and i want to edit it on my Mac. is it possible to record the normal video tape in my VCR to my Sony Dv cam so that i can put it on my Mac and edit it? i have been tryin to figur it out and i just end up getting pissed and confused. please help a brother out. thanks.

i would suggest a few trys with some tapes and stuff, but u would take video/audio cables from the vcr to the camera, providing the camera has the outlets, and from there try different recording things. i did what you are trying to do on accident so this might not be useful

You basically need the data going from the output plugs on the VCR to the input on your camera, then you can put it onto your computer. Try it a few times first to get it figured out.

read the manual about how to dub video onto your camera. i think you hook it up to your vcr like you do to your tv, then you go into vcr mode on your camera, and play the video on the tv, but press record on the vcr controls on your camera. it shows diagrams of this shit in your manual. but i'm almost poitive that's how you do it

my friend recorded movies onto mini dv and watched movies on car rides and shit...haha i dunno how he did it tho
