Why did Candide move to Salomon?? I thought dynastar were treating him pretty will with his own pro model which performs as well as he skis

yeah they will be right, the phils are so dominant, they have an aussie guy called Luke Hassart he is heaps good aswell. But back to candide I think most people would change for $350000, was a bit of a change up, I think it was for the best.

I dont understand Candide...he is trying to capitalize on the sport. He is only allowing private filming of him, and he is going to sell the segments to various ski film companys...so that he can control what is done with his skiing. I think its stupid, the sport is turning into people just trying to make money...and ultimatly greed.

that smoking thing is funny cos mickael burns a lot and they now have him on the world team... but they still have one of the strongest allround teams out there so candide going is a shibby but not the end of the world.

I mean the 3 phils, mickael, critchon, nobis and chicerit for big mountain, plus a whole bunch of locally famous guys that rip, they are strong still...

For the record...350 000 is not the number... but it is a rediculous number which no one really needs to know...anyway the weed smoking thing is totally false. He brings his filmers with him because he wants control over the artistic style of his segments and wants to have them around as much as possible. As well as they are his friends. The fact that he is selling the footage to the other production companies is completely normal and in no way greedy. It costs a fuckload for footage and too pay a cameraman...the price is only the same as the price for pbp to employ a cody rasig to shoot this or that...candide does not make money from the sale of his footage..excluding rastarfaride etc...but thats a different story.

Candide is making intelligent and mature business decisions...thats what it is now a business. It's a busnisness that we all love.

Even if that was $350 000 per year, that is not ridiculous at all really for Candide. He will make Salomon alot more money than that.
Pro boarders line Peter Line, JP Walker, Jussi, are pulling in like $600 000 to $700 000 a year. Shaun White is making close to $1 000 000 a year.
More pros better start making that kind of money.

Bode Miller (a ski racer for heavens sake) has a 1 million dollar contract with rossignol for skis and bindings only...Sean white makes more than a million a year, as does JP Walker, as does Tony Hawk, as does Kelly Slater, as does Tim Curran, as does Chad Muska...the list does go on. Nobody in freeride skiing right now is making millions...but there are a few at the top making good 6 figure salarys...and rising.

I don't want to confuse you guys though, most pro skiers dont make much more than 20-30 thousand a year...
