Best idea yet...thread and search integrated

so yeah i was thinking about how noone on this entire site knows how to use the search bar. so why not integrate the search bar in when you create a new thread. so that it searches the forum for common words and if it finds related items denies the new thread. then displays a message stating that this is already a thread and then displays the related items.
hmm has noone thought of this?

it would be a good idea if it always worked. But it would fuck up a bunch and not let you make threads that really havent been made yet

What about if on the page that you made a new thread on, there was a big bold print notification that a search bar does indeed exist, and that you should use it before making a new one? Doesnt seem like that would be too hard to do..

What if when you clicked "create thread" there would be a page that popped up like the spambuster 5000, only this would say
Before you make a thread, Check the search bar you moron!!!
Would you like to continue anyways

i dont think it would work. different topics can ahve similar if not identical names.
For example:
say armada release a new ski. Someone makes a thread called "New Armadas" to discuss thema nd their amazingness. then say, 2 months down the line someone wins a pair at a comp and doesnt want them for whatever reason. They see if anyone on NS wants them so start a topic called "New Armadas".
See how the two are different yet called the same thing?
or say in site discussion there are probably 100s of threads called "help!!" or similar.
Another factor is a new person can be asking a legit question which isnt immediatly obvious to them. Sure they should use search but not everyone does that. I never do to be honest. but instead of 10 people saying "been asked before" one eprson should answer it and then it be left alone. Simple as that.

that would kinda suck because if u were tryin to make a thread that was titled similar to another but was a completely different question and you couldnt post, that would be no good at all.

i just dont like the complaining threads. AND FURTHERMORE, searchbar threads probably make up .5 percent of threads, which is alot if you think about it.
