Every year more companies seem to be making more models of Twins with more and more technology being incorporated into each ski.
Simple question: Does anyone know which company made the very first twin tip ski? any pics floating about?

i made a post similar to this one a little while ago... i guess some type of Olin was the first twin.

Olin made the Mark IV back in the seventies, but it didn't really catch on. The more modern twin tip came about in 97-98ish. K2 produced the Poacher and Salomon made the 1080, for some reason the Poacher didn't catch on, while the 1080 did and is credited as the OG. Shortly there after Rossignol made the Ross E. Knoll (R.E.K.), those were the first modern twins.

when you say the salomn 1080 are you talking about the yellow ones with the yellow bases?? Never heard of the Rossi REK but yeah heard of the k2 poacher

yes, they made them yellow though for a couple years, so don't confuse a yellow pair with the originals. i think they were yellow for three years, one of them they were associated with the xscream line, then they went to blue/purple, and then the promodels and now they are what they are.

the poachers had basically the same size tail as the original 1080, and came out first, but were super soft and kinda short
