With all the speculation and bullshit rumors going around with my ships schedule... looks like they have made some decisions.
We will be going on 2 week underway period around California in late November, and after that We will be going out on a 6 month deployment in the beginning of January... I won't be back till June. I fucking hate the Navy. So have fun next winter people, because I'll be in the fucking Persian Gulf sucking down sand.

Well, I failed out of my first year of college by not going to class and smoking too much. They kicked me out and I basically wasted about $30,000 of my parents money. They kicked me out of the house and cut me off from their health insurance, I was kinda screwed, no job, no money, no car, no place to stay. Joining the military hadn't even crossed my mind since I hate the military, but my uncle suggested it, and I talked to the recruiter that day and he made it sound all awesome, but he relaly just lied out of his ass.
But I just figured I'd pay my parents back with the 30 something grand I'll use for college from the G.I. bill, and get out of shithole New York. I'm in a better location now for skiing and all, but I'm hardly every around :( Moral of the story is, stay in school.

Yeah man the war sucks. As shitty as the military is though it can seem(and in the end is) a good alternative. The G.I. BIll will be good for you when you get back.

do they give you money AND fund your college cuz I've had recruiters telling me that if I sign up, then the government will pay for my education. I'm not gonna do it, but if they pay for your education, you could go back to school. maybe the recruiters lied when they told me that...

They'll pay for some of my college. The Montgomery G.I. bill will give you something like $35,000 for college. The college I used to go to cost 22,000 a year, so the G.I. bill sucks if you're going to a good school. I think it's bullshit, but I owe it to my parents.

I read this whole news article a while back that basically said that in 50 years Washington will only have snow at like baker and the top of crystal but that snoq and prolly stevens is just sol... it was a while ago so I don't remember the details and it was written by some super tree-hugger so I'm sure it was entirely biased but still... it sucks...

well i was reading about how the average snow level in the pnw could rise by around 1500ft in the next 40 years, which would be devastating. also, in like europe, the low elevation ski areas could suffer (kitzbühel for example) because snow levels could rise about 1500-2000 feet as well, and those places arent much higher than ski areas here, although other places in the alps could be just fine, for now.

i dont know about stevens and snoqualmie and such......but its predicted that hood is supposed to get their best snowfall since '76 next season..........i mean, i know not to trust predictions anymore, but at least its something to look foward to.,....plus we've never had 2 BAD years in a row, so its kinda likely...i suppose
