how much is too much coffee, like caffiene-wise? i'm on my second pot and they're big pots too, like 12 cups apiece. i hope i have enough to last me til class at 10:30

i honestly doubt you've had the equivalent of 12 cups. i worked in a coffee shop all last summer, and drinking 12 cups of coffee isn't something thats possible to do in 6 hours.

my old german teacher had a pot in his room. he made coffe all day and would be wired as hell by the time i got there and it was so funny. i think the most he had was like 2 and a half or 3 pots in one day.

I drink atleast 10 cups in a morning but that is spread out over 5am to about 10am.

i also used to work in a coffee shop in high school. not the cool kinda like they have in amsterdam though. but i finished one full large pot (12 servings) in like 4 hrs and about half another one since then. i stopped though becausei was gettin kinda dizzy and very sick feeling. now i'm just tryin to pull through til i'm done with classes at 1:15

I've just recently cut back my coffee consumption to 1 cup / day. I was up to as high as 8 / day, but thats just a little too much.

if you are already starting to feel sick and dizzy, you'de better start drinking water, and get some food in your system (preferably food with a fair amount of electrolytes, like salt or potasium). From the sounds of it, you may not be far from a caffeine overdose, which is not fun. Uncontrolable shaking, nausea, and profuse sweating are signs that you gotta do something.
The nausea is from an overload of stimulatants in your stomach (you can get the same feeling from stimulant pills), its your bodies reaction trying to get rid of the stimulants that might still be there. Further, the mass amount of caffiene will dehydrate you pretty bad, so do everything you can to try to maintain fluid levels.
The thing people don't think about in terms of caffiene is it can kill you. People got all worked up over the past couple years because a couple people died and ephedra was blamed, but many more people have died from caffeine overdoses (very sever ones).

my italian teacher drinks about 9 shots of esspresso every morning, one time he came in and said he had like 12 shots that morning, later he kicked a hole in the wall, he only sleeps like 6 hours to 5 hours a night
