Another ski size thread

i have just read about 10 threads on ski size and all are differnt.Some say go about your height and some msay do for about ur nose level. I ski probably mostly park/pipe(70%) with the rest big mtn(10%) and a bit of groomers(20%). I am 180cm tall and 150lbs(70kg). I was thinking about a 169 fujative. 179 seems pretty long if im skiing it in the park and pipe as well as all mtn.

i think most people will tell you to go the 179s but on the other hand im your height/weight and i got 169 PEs and they are no probs for me, i think the bigger length is good if you are wanting heaps good stability on huge landings, leave it to the rest of these guys though, they know more than me

honestly id go with 179's i skiied on them for half of the season and had no problems,just make sure you mount ur bindings in the right place so there not all far back and such

I would suggest you go for the 179. It's no bigger than you are and since the fujative if both soft and fairly light, you shouldn't have any trouble controlling it. I think you'll be much happier with the longer ski as you progress.

Def. go with what you feel is right for your size/ability. I think you wouldn't have any issues with the 79's. But like the other dude said, he's your same size and has the 69's w/ no problems. Demo them maybe?

yeah its just i own skis that are 158cm at the moment since i had no money last year. they were jsut below my chin so i think the 20cm might be a pretty hughe change. Ski shops used to tell me about eye level. Is it same height as you now?

i dont really have the time to demo. I dont have any skis that i can ski on until i have the time to buy some. Well i have my 158s but thats getting close to snowblading.

I've always heard that your tips should be between your chin and forehead. But I'm betting you would get used to the extra length after the first few runs

I have a pair of 179cm Fujatives, and I wouldn't have them any other size. I like longer cause your spins are more stable and so are you landings, plus when skis come up to your nose it looks as thoug you enjoi indulging in sexual intercourse with other men.

you'll be fine in the park, i skiied 179 in park and on all mtn for most the season and im somewhat small, ull be just fine cuz ur somewhat of a big kid

the longer the better i say, just not more than 10cm above your head is my mark. And that doesnt include powder skis.

what are the pros and cons of getting the 169cm? compared to 179cm. I'll probably go with the 179 if i can still spin and turn them ok

I'm hurt. I though we had discussed this completely.

You are 180 cm's tall, 160 lbs. Go for the 179 I promise it's the best size for you.

definetly, i'm shorter than you, but weigh 170lbs and wish i had longer skis than my 178s. if you center mount them you should have no problems with that length, if you go shorter it will be more like a ski blade, and no one likes ski blades.

yeah im thats for all your advice. Im definately getting 179.just seeing if every1 says that. if not who cares i'll get 179 anyway
