Need help: Im looking into a job in Holland MI. I know they get decent snow, but isnt much elevation around. I did see a few areas, like Pando. Could anyone give me some info on how decent the skiing/snowboarding is around this are, or just living for that matter. thx

oh its sweet man, no comparison to out west, if i had a choice of southwest michigan or colorado, i would choose southwest michigan. Besides all the good skiers come here to ski.

Bittersweet is over that way also, not a bad place. Your just going to run out of land really quick. The ski areas are really small. Plus if it didnt snow that day, its going to be pure ice. And when I say ice i'm not talking about what people out west call ice. I'm talking skiing on an ice rink! No joke, it gets nasty. I love being out west and asking people how it is today and they say "its pretty icey" I just laugh at them because the snow is sweet IMO.

Left this out. You can also shoot a few hours north and ski the Boynes and Nubs. Their skiing is 100% better than down near Holland. It will be good for a weekend jaunt for ya. Cheap hotels too if you dont want to drive back ($55+).

dont take the job. keep looking. sw michigan is depressing in the winter. no snow-no mtns_ probably one of the worst places to ski. if the job is anything close to permanent, keep looking. trust me it's worth it, i hate it down there

Im from near Kalamazoo, and the best place to ski in SW Michigan is probably Bittersweet. They have a good tight crew, who is there almost every day. I ride there when im for winter break. The funniest thing is their high speed quad.
skiing sucks
