Backflips

hey i am trying to learn how to do a backflip. I read the stuff on the tricks forum but i was wondering if anyone else has some good advice, much appreciated.

practice elsewhere first. pool, trampolines, etc. learn how to do gainers in a pool. then take that skill to a jump with a soft landing, and huck to your hearts content.

yep, you just gotta throw your upper body back, and you'll be able to spot your landing really easily. backflips are the most natural motion ever... just make sure if you go huge, that you lay it out like crazy, because people tend to overrotate backflips and kick em around a little fast... just pop, throw your arms and head back, and the rest will come around once you spot your landing. just give'r.

to tell you the truth, backflips were the first trick i learned, i did a backflip before i did a 180... so they're obviously not all that difficult. if i can do em my third time on twins, you can do them for sure.

yea there easy just watch your rotation. Ive seen plenty over rotate while learnin this trick. The worst tho is people get upside down freak out and open up killing the flip, thats called the neck breaker for obvious reasons

My first backflip i thought i threw it right but then i just stopped rotating a little past vertical. the second i got it around easily. I thought that u just lean back, but u really have to remember to flip, not jsut throw it backwards. Also remember to look around as much as you can and get ur feet back under u. looking around is key.

try to not let your head go backwards. keep a straight spine, and just go with the flow. you'll land it no problem man!

Dont listen to Multipass, if you watch anyone else do a backflip you will see that their head does go back. Thats how you set the flip. The number one thing to remember is COMMIT. I've seen many people, throw the rotation, get about half way around, bring their head back to normal position, which halts the rotation, and they do a nice dive to the snow.

You just have to have confidence, backflips are truly easier than 360s.

The backflip is soo funny, its so fun to do but ppl are so scared to do them yet once u learn they are one of the easiest tricks(in park). If I show friends(who dont ski or board) video of like cork tricks, rodeos, 720s they always ask can u do a backflip!! I just laugh!!
