Make sure you follow the instructions of your surgeon. If he says to stay in bed for a week, do it. I was up and about the day after surgery and the bleeding didn't stop for 2 weeks, i.e. I was a dumbass and didn't listen to my surgeon.

And if you have perkoset (or some generic version) take them with a "full" stomach (as full as it can be without eating, which is a pain in the ass in itself).

My girlfriend got her's out before winter. her face swelled up big time. then she started eating and got some food stuck in one of the holes and had to go back to the dentist again....so yeah, listen to the doctors

i got mine out last year...hurt for like a day and a half afterwards and they were fully embeded...then i just lied to my mom and kept on taking the vicadent because that was a good time...especially going bowling after taking 2 of them...i was in a different world

i had mine out before christmas. it really didnt hurt at all...i was just annoyed at having to lye in bed for a few days so the bleeding would stop, and sleeping sucked because i dont normally sleep on my back.

when i got my wisdom teeth out it was sweet until it started hurting, right after i got home i was eating yogurt and my mom walks into my room and shes like wat the fuck and theres yogurt dribbling down my chin cause i couldnt feel it

i got like the absolute tiniest piece of food stuck in where the stiches were and my face was swollen for like a week and than i had to go back to my oral surgeon, whose name is Dr. Blood (seriously), and he had to take a razor and cut open my gum w/o novacaine and suck out the piece of food. it hurt a little, but not too bad

yeah, i got food in the hole i had from it 2, and i had some like mini pipe cleaner for my braces i had and i stuck it in it and it went in like 3 inches it was crazy, but they are gone now

humans are in the process of getting rid of wisdom teeth in evolution. Over the past ten thousand years or so, humans' jaws have gotten progresively smaller, yet we still have the same number of teeth (most of us). So, when your wisdom teeth start coming in in the back of your mouth, there might be bone or other teeth in the way. If you let them come in and they are impacted (teeth in the way), you can have all your teeth pushed and turned sideways and crooked and such, plus extreme pain. I had mine out this summer, really wasnt bad at all, i think i was lucky.

my charming tooth removal story:
i had 4 teeth out 2 at a time but the last one was a bastard, had 3 seperate appointments for that tooth alone- 4 injections a pop. they could never anethetise the bugger and didnt want to pull it out with a live nerve.
so finally i went to the uni orthodontist place (tooth hospital) and they had to get the needle right to the base of the root-his means 1 round of injections to numb my mouth enough to get the 2nd lot of injections in. the last fat ****ing bastard of a needle was about 2 inches long and had to go through a layer of something between my roots (as in it slid in, stopped, got pushed really hard & stopped again-this was its final destination. it was rammed in so tight that the first dentist couldn't yank it out so she had to call a big old dude to get it.
just so turns out ha the root on said tooth was about 25-30mm long; about double the others. it also rocketed out of my mouth so fast that it nearly smacked me in the face on its journey.
the teeth on the top had to be removed too and those ones needed the soft upper palete treatment aswell.
eughhhh

my friend 'lefty1080' just got his out, it looks like it sucks, he always gets like food stuck back in there and he says its a bitch to get out. hes also got a bruise on his jaw on this left side. it sure does suck

The weirdest thing ever happened, I took 2 perc's. (this was my first time on havy pain killers) I was sitting at the computer playing video games and all of a sudden I just fell asleep. that's probably bad,right?

i got mine out yesterday, im awake now at 1:40 in the morning because i cant sleep because my mouth keeps filling up with blood

im kinda scared because they put me on pennecillin and according to alpentalik's story that might be the cause of his little block-up

it all depends on how the surgery goes... for some people it really sucks but for me after like two days of pain killers i was fine and saved the rest of the vikes... i feel so bad for people that just got numbed i was knocked the fuck out from laughing gas.
