Heavy Skis

last year i demoed some PE's and found they felt really heavy and long compared to other skis the same length(like the 1080 and TM) is this since they are alot stiffer. The new PE's are lighter and softer this year so im actually considering them. Do soft skis tend to feel shorter that stiffer skis?

Well yes in the sense that they are easier to turn. but at the same time you're trading off stability. I think soft skis are fine for the park but if you ski very agressivley outside the park you need some stiff long skis, my theory is the harder they are to turn the more stable they are

Sounds like a good theory to me!! If it were me I would def consider them this season... At least give em a chance I think you will like em this season... I have loved them since day 1 though .

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I think K2 measures their skis effective edge. As in the 179cm means the actual part of the ski making contact with the snow. Whereas other companies measure their skis tip to tail, regardless of whether the tip and tail touch the snow. Does that make any sense?
