its true he got ripped off but d-loc its a MAC so pricing is way different. Besides...as the computer expert you are, you should know better then buy an eMachine no matter what the specs

^i know its a mac, and i would never buy a mac in the first place... first mistake.

my buddies had an emachine for about a year now and its still kicking strong. see the key is to get the extended warrent for 3 years and then WHO CARES. its like 89.99 for the warrenty and it covers EVERYTHING on an emachine. so the price of the laptop ends up being areound $1000 and you have 10 times the features as a mac.

no, i know i didnt get ripped off. maybe there may be a matter deal somewhere, but that is a good deal. everyone who knows somthing on spymac says so, and i looked into it extensivly.

i know there are plenty of faster windows laptops out there (not faster by a whole lot though) beleve me im no die hard mac fan. I am indifferent as far as mac and pc.

I would like you to find me a pc for a similar price with a geforce go5200 with 64mb of ram and a 60 gig hard drive that is that small and light and has at minimum about a 4 hour battery life, For a similar price.

I looked at a centrino laptop on www.cyberpowerinc.com (best place you can buy a computer!) and it was similar but not as light, lower battery life, and the videocard was not nearly as good.

I know whats out there, and Im not diehard mac by any means.

one of the reasons i got this laptop as opposed to a bigger but [erhaps faster and more expensive pc laptop is becuase im going to be getting a VERY nice pc desktop soon. here is what i will be ordering from cyberpower in a while, if not right before i go to collage:

AMD Athalon 64 4000
ATI RADEON x800 xl
PCI Express
160 gig hard drive
1 gig of ram
free half life 2
really nice case with all the lights and color and shit

all for about $1300!

now dont tell me how to buy computers unless i ask, or atleast dont be an ass about it. i know what im doing.

haha rich enough not too good one... yet you still cant get all the features when yuo buy a pre-assembled computer. not enough ram, not fast enough, processor speed, clock speeds, video cards, mother boards... features is what you get when you make your own contraption out of misc parts.

im rich dont get me wrong but why am i gonna forkk out $3000 for alienware when i built a better computer for $750 and i can just upgrade the mother board and processor and video card when i want. and its 1/2 price.

there are what 8 parts to a computer and if you cant figure out how to assemble them or even read the instructions that come with every motherboard then you dont need to be on a computer in the first place. it take me 30 min to assemble a computer and about 2 hrs to load software. and im $1000 richer. i dont have money to throw around when in the college life. i have better things to spend my money on than a $3000 alienware gaming maching, which isnt worth it in the first place. you pay an extra $1000 for the name ALIENWARE, has been like that for the past 8 years.

ive built computers now for almost 10 years and have saved around $10,000 just myself... i also build them for others for a small price, which is way cheaper then buying pre-built pc's

i dont even know what alienware is. why would i make mysef a computer whebn all i use it for is word, powerpoint, excel, the internet, picture editing, video editing and music/ its not like im trying to take over the world on my compy. im sure alot of other poepl feel the same way.

Yeah I would not spent that much money on a computer with such low performance. Save up your pennies, nickles, dimes and get something better in a couple months instead of having to sit there waiting for shit to process.

your retarded. cyberpower is cheaper then buying all your parts from new egg or tiger direct. and what the fuck is your pc that it is faster then that AMD i described for $750? i could see if you bought all your parts off ebay, but i jsut dont have the pacience for that. I could easly build my own computer. i am entirly self taught jsut by messing wround with stuff, but i coudl put together my own computer from scratch. ive replaced CPUs, hard drives, sound cards, video cards, optical drives and re wired my computer so it looks nice.

fuck dude, that laptop has less fetures then the powerbook, i dont even see how you could say it has 10 time the fetures. that powerbook has all the usb ports, firewire and all the sound and video ports, plus BUILT IN WIRELESS and Blue Tooth.

on top of that, it is smaller and lighter and it has better battery life. since im getting a desktop later anyway, i dont need speed over powertability.

Anyone can assemble their own PC, it's like putting lego together... but it's not as simple as "I HAVE THE BIGGEST NUMBERS, I WIN". The mac is actually a much better solution as far as laptops go- all the software is integrated much better with the hardware, since Apple manufactures everything, and you'll get better support and a better user experience. Plus no spyware or viruses. And if you consider yourself computer-literate, you should know better than to judge a CPU by its clock speed.

Apple's OS is also much nicer than windows- it's just cleaner and nicer to use.

You can say "emachines" whatever... those machines are shit thrown together in a case. And yes, I have owned other laptops- 2 dells, and I've had more desktops than I can count, some I built, some I didn't. I've definitely had the best experience out of all these machines with my powerbook.

i realize all of what you jsut said is somewhat true. but you are slightly confused. im not taliking abotu building my own laptop. it was a side conversation. besids windows isnt that hard to keep running smoothly. OSx is pretty damn good but bang for your buck, im still gonna stand by what i have said before which is pcs are faster for the money. the powerbook was the best laptop that i could find for the price and for the portability. that is why i got it, not becuase it is a mac, although i dofinatly dont mind that it is a mac. plus once i get my desktop, i will have a mac and a gaming pc. i will be able to run whatever i want and have a nice amount of options.

let me add, that if you, d-lock, or anyone else have never used OSX or havnt used it very much, you are enver allowed to diss apple untill you do. if you have ues os 9 or below, i can see why you woudl think that macs suck becuase os 9 and below suck. osx is much better.

as stated many times before i only sure NS during work for time passing purposes.

WTF do i need bluetooth for? i dont wanna pay for another internet first off and second blue tooth technology is nothing that it could be.

wireless internet again is not needed because why the fuck wouldnt i just go buy a wireless card for like $40.

see ur still $500 more over the price and you have yet to show me anything useful.

oh so i guess 5lb laptop or a 10 lb laptop is a huge difference. maybe if i was a woman and had not muscle but i think i can handle a 14lb laptop. and size, who the fuck cares how small it is... its what like a 1/2 inch smaller all around, whoop dee dooo daa.

only plus i will give u for a mac is video editing, and thats only if ur hardcore about it and shit. for the average video filmer its not anything different from a PC.

i have that 64 bit AMD processor already, and i use a beta version of 64-bit windows. HMM u forgot that windows still hasnt released technology to support 64-bit. and this is where my computer engineering knowledge comes into play. ive tweaked alot of my settings and bios, even written a little code for the bios, to help maximize my 64 bit processor.

good luck with that new desktop ur "ordering" cuz most dont have the knowledge base to actually use the 64-bit tecnology.

SHUT THE FUCK UP THEN! like i said, it is compairable to previous versions. and whatever the fuck it is is an OS as in OPERATING SYSTEM. as for right clicking, mac has set up a system so that it is almost 100% of the time not nessisary to do so if you know even slightly how to use the OS. For example, you can set it so that when you go to a courner of the screen with the mouse, the window minimizes. to save an image off a web page all you do is click and drag it, first to the courner (so that the window minimized) and then to where you want it on the desktop. it automatically shows up on the desktop where you put it, as a file. I will give you that, however, it is still dumb that the mice that come with macs arnt 2 button, but for a pc, when is the last time that you got a computer that happened to come witha mouse and you actually keept that mouse? I have a 2 button microsoft mouse with side scroll on the mac right now (best thing asside from xbox microsoft made was a mouse, although i dont have a huge problem with windows). if you ever need to right click on a mac that doesnt have a 2 button mouce, hold down ctrl and click.


as for 64 bit, programs will come out soon fo0r it such as windows longhorn and shit. but you know what? atleast for gaming it really isnt that much better at all. I saw a writeup about a test this guy did with UT 2004 that he modified to run on 64 bit and the gain was minimal. and umm... idk if you have heard of OSX Tiger but it is a mac os that is going to come out in a few days or somthing (it may be already out) and it is 64 bit (all the g5s are 64 bit) apple is selling it for only $10.00 to anyone who has boughten their computer like in the least year or somthing. so who has official 64 bit first?

thats great that you know how to tweek windows. Im sure that if i spent some time looking on the internet it isnt anything i couldnt do. plus, you sure dont seem to know much else about computers at a "collage education level"

--therefore making that battery run out sooner. tests have been done, why do you think centrino technology is such a big deal? all that is, is an energy efficent processor with a wireless card hard wired to the mobo.

^^first off i wasnt saying i dont know what OSX was, i know its the OS of a mac... i just didnt know if it was called that or not.


^again why the hell do you need the internet with you 24/7, are you that big of a loser that a computer must be by ur side with interenet access at all times? i would only need wireless if i felt like going in another room in the house, but then dont i have a plug to plug in the laptop? and thus rendering battery life useless. but then again i have a 50 foot network cord running into my TV room where i use my laptop, and another 35 foot cord running to my xbox.

and my xbox has a 80 GB HDD with more capabilities than your laptop will have on ripping DVD's.

obviously yes... you must need AIM by ur side so you can chat with all the kiddies on ur buddy list.

i dont deal with mac... im Windows and Unix... the real money maker.

eithernet kicks 802.11b/g's ass. the only time i would use wireless is if i want some place outsied of my home that had it in which case battery life would matter.

oh wow you hacked your x box. that is impressive, i dont knwo anyone who has done that before. there are plenty of ripping programs for mac and great cd burning programs.

Unix is somthing I dont know much about so you can have your satisfaction about that. one thing i do know is that OSX is based off of unix so maybe you should check it out.

again i post for an 8 hr window 7-3 everyday... im on the computer for 8hr 5 days a week, ITS MY JOB. i post here to pass the time.

see it works you all fall for it everytime, i could say anything and you have no clue if im telling the truth or not, or if i have knowledge based info on the topic. its all a game and its fun... have you every seen a post from me after 4pm EST? NO and you never will cuz i have a life outside of work. you my friend obviously have NO life and need to evaluate that sometime.

no i hate unix man, its just required for my degree. why use commands when windows is already pre-assembled.

i have a great life and all taht matters is that i like it. like i said, i do admit that i am on here too much. anyway, if you got banned and changed your name, then your post count woudl start over, especially i would imagine if you got banned. and what you said abotu nto being able to tell the truth over the internet is completely true, and thereofr i dont know if your saying what you jsut said becuase it is true, or just to cover for yourself. maybe you should stop being such a looser and get a better job where your not sitting infront of a computer every day with nothing better to do then be on ns for 8 hours. im not entirly trying to be an ass, just trying to proove a point.
