Newb: need help with ski set-up, please advise:

Hi. Im a snowboarder who wants to get into skiing as well. 5-7 150lbs. Im looking for skis that I can use mainly in the park but freeride as well, preferrably twin tips. I also know I want shorter skis, but Im not sure what is wayyyyy to short and what is ideal....i was thinking 150-160. Lastly, I have NO idea what boots or bindings I need. Can anyone give a brother a hand? Thanks much!!!!

5'7 you probably want 165-175s

I think you should start of with a less expensive ski. It should be around the 160cm, length. Maybe look at 160cm Armada ar5's.
For bindings you should definately get some look or rossi, axial bindings.
For boots you should go to your local shop and try on lots of boots. Have someone help you find which one fits best. If it's to expensive at the shop, try finding the same boot online. You'll definately want a "softer" boot, they're better for jumps and rails.

I messed up, I meant to put fujatives under the "less expensive ski", but if you look around you can find armada's for 200.

if you are 5'7" you definitely want something longer than 160s...they may be easy to learn on, but you'll hate them as soon as you progress. i think you'd be fine with something between 170 - 175. keep an eye on ebay or even on here for good deals
bindings: to start out you'll be perfect in a look p10, rossi 100, or even a salomon 810 or 912
boots: as stated above, go to a shop (or several) and try on LOTS of boots...this is the MOST IMPORTANT piece of equipment you will buy and deserves a good amount of time. otherwise you will be sorry you got shitty fitting boots

you'd be good with some 168 scratch eco with axium bindings, they're good skis and bindings for someone getting into the sport and they're not expensive, there's no reason to spend a lot of money right away
