it actaully stands for adi dassler, the founder of addidas or something. HIs brother founded Puma.

You are correct, Adidas was founded by Addi Dassler and his Bro did found puma, but its fun to play with the initials

Adidas is about 45 years older or so than NIKE. Nike was founded in the 80s, Adidas in 1949
