Has anyone here tried soft boots? How do you like them? How do they compare to normal high-end boots?
But what if the Hookey Pookey isn't what "it's all about?" Then what?!?!?!?!

I had them. I loved the way they rode in the park, but they just weren't enough boot for all mountain.
They only lasted 7 skiing days before I blew them apart. That's not a good thing either.

Yeah, I spend probably 75% of my time in the Park, 20% in the Pipe and 5% outside. I just saw this killer deal on these Dolomite soft boots but I'm not sure I should get them. What happens when I go to a bigger mountain like stratton, big bear, mammoth etc. Will these leave me screwed when I try to keep up with my friends with hard boots?

exactly what Deezl said. Great in park, too soft for hard, aggressive turns

I don't know if i agree with that. I've ridden the Rossi Soft Light 1 boot for the part two seasons and I love them inside and out of the park. They have been soft, warm and comfortable, but I can torque them up stiff enough to run skiercross in them. I'm a certified ski instructor and I've had them all over the parks and backcountry of the east ad west coasts and never had a problem.

What about on hard ice? I spend half my time in NY, so I night ski on ice all the time. do you think it's worth it to try them?

I didn't feel that they were terrible on groomers and the hard stuff. The place were they were horrible for me was in steep powder. I had them on two days that were 30+ inches and I was scared. It felt like I had no control.
I had Rossi Soft1's. I would definitely consider getting them again for strictly park if they have done something to beef up the stitching and rebound heel piece. Those are the items that I blew out.

Well, it's all relative. When your main stomping ground is Mountain Creek, anything is bigger.
