Replying to Please write e-mails to ALPINE
It's such bullshit they want to close the park down so early... the only thing we can do is write e-mails and complain.
Here is the e-mail I sent. Feel free to change some words around and send it under your name...
send e-mails to info@alpine.com
The more e-mails the better.... the park techs think they might re- consider!
I am writing this e-mail because I heard that Alpine wants to close down their terrain park on May 2. This angers me because there is more than enough snow to have nice jumps and rails until at least June. I understand that you think you will be losing money by keeping the park up, but in reality you will make money. Northstar and Mt. Rose closed their mountains and I know a lot of friends who want to come to Alpine and ski our park. I also have some friends who bought an Alpine spring pass just for the terrain park and will be very unhappy if they spent $100 on nothing. Alpine's park has a great reputation and with all the mountains closing people are going to need a place to go!
If Alpine's park close on May 2, I am definitely going to reconsider buying a season pass next year. I bought an Alpine pass because I knew they would have a good park because of Eric and all the other park techs. Spring skiing is the best for terrain park because the snow is soft and it does not hurt as much if you fall. Plus it's sunny and not windy. Right now Squaw has a very nice park and it will be open until July. I know that Squaw's pass is way more expensive than Alpine's, however I think it might be worth it to buy a pass there next year because their park stays open for way longer than Alpine's and Spring riding is the best for park and the park is the number one thing that I care about. I am not the only one who feels this way. Terrain Park riding is the favorite thing among young people on the mountain and the sports just keep on growing... it's addictive.
I was at Alpine today (Friday April, 22) and there were A LOT of people in the park for a Friday. I noticed a lot of kids did not have passes either, and I think if half those kids payed for tickets than you would have made a lot of money. I think you should have someone checking tickets at least for an hour or two at Kangaroo and you will be surprised how much ticket sales go up. People will be willing to pay the money for a day because of the terrain park. Older people are not going to be as willing to pay for a full day of spring skiing because the conditions are not that good, however people who ride terrain park LIVE for these days!
Please re- consider closing Alpine's park so early or else you will be hurting yourselves in the end.
