i definately use them. when i was learning a new trick though, like rodeos or switch corks i would take them off. But i pretty much always wear them, and feel wierd otherwise.

i used to not use them but now i do and i like it better. i don't even know why, but it's nicer. and, if you somehow let go of your poles, you don't have to ski down and pick 'em up, they're still attached to your wrists.

No, I am the king of the double pole ejection when I crash. I want those things as far away from me as possible while ragdolling. And if you wear them around your wrists and catch it flying through the trees or snag it on something as you're coming off a big cliff you're fucked

i used to never use them until i dropped a pole on a steep ass run, n had to ski most of the run with only one pole, so poleless, then i realized its pointless not to have them on (for the most part)

i cant ski without the straps, its just an engraved habbit, also dont like hiking for my poles if a time ever comes up. although right now, one of my current poles doesnt even have a pole strap, so i always have to have that pole in my left hand, i dont know why

i leave em off alot like in the park cuz if i fall an the poles are close to me i dont want them poking me or some shit. But for real steep stuff and powder i put the straps on cuz i dont wanna lose them

Ya I use them alot, so I dont drop my poles, but if Im on a jump and bail hard, It ends up with me spraining my thumb, I did that like four times this season and my thumbs are screwed over because of it. Hopefully they'll heal entirely by next year

its stupid to not strap poles. its just a hassel when you bail and have to hike up and get it, or when you drop it in the air, or upon landing. why wouldn't you strap them up? is it not the 'cool' thing to do?

I had a bad Tomahawk-chunder- experience with straps, poles hitting me in the face, blood in my eyes and goggles and all over, it was a mess. So yeah I used straps.

i ALWAYS go with pole straps its just so awkward without them i dont understand how people dont like them they help out so much and then just rock the straps on the lift too makes things 3432423 times easier you never have to worry about your poles

always pole staps but i wear them super weird....i put my hand on top of them so they are between my hand and pole...i like it alot better

we run rope tow at our hill so they are never on my hands at all, even when i go to a hill with no tow, i still don't put them on,

i never use them less im skiing steep pow. But in the park if im gonna bail the first thing i do is toss my poles to my sides

straps are so annoying for me. i just hold em. except for a few days i had no basket on one of my poles so it'd get stuck in the snow and id keep going forward. other than that, im fine without straps. i have like a super kung fu grip so no matter what, like a bad bail or something, it's still in my hands

^ how are straps annoying ?? just losen them up. they're so convenient for hiking... just need to let go of poles and walk, and dont really need to worry about dropping them when you bail.

my thumbs are so fucked from poles that I dont used them around my wrists anymore...but still dont want them to disappear so I use the pole strap through the velcro thing on the back of my glove...on a small fall it will hang on but if the falls big enough it can pull through the velcro and off it goes.

and to guy above with the bad thumbs....it will never heal 100% again...mine are totally fucked with only about 35% functioning ligaments left and bone chuncks in my knuckles

^yeah exactly laziness which is why i wear my poles... i put the straps on probably a grand total of 2 times a day once in the morning and once after lunch, i dont have to worry about the poles on the lift off jumps, falling, whatever
