Too many pop ups

I have both spybot and ad aware SE and I run them about 1 a week but I am still getting pop ups. Even though I use firefox, the pop ups come up as IE. It also seems that my computer takes longer to load after I start it up. Any suggestions on how to clean up my computer? I dont want to pay for anything either. thanks.

how about going to internet options and see how many cookies you have..if you have millions of them..then thats why...i had that problem too..and it was taking a long time to upload....so...delete all history or some..and same with the cookies...it should help

I use my firewall program to clear my cache every day, I dunno if that would help you.

also perform full scan instead of smart scan on ad aware. i did this and found like 120 adware files
