Why is my money worth more in Canada?

WHy is US money worth more in Canada? There is an exchange rate so my money should be worth the same right? Like I buy a box of pop tarts in America for $2.50, the same box in Canada is prolly $3.75CA (assuming the exchange rate is .5). So if I go to Canada I still pay the same amount for the same thing right? One more example, I paid like $1200 for a sess at HN, a Canadian kid paid maybe 1800 (1200x1.5=1800), so we both paid the same amount really, right? Someone please explain how I am wrong?

I just don't know what the point of the whole thing is....
But the Canadian Dollar is always changing and is it does better than American Money is worth less. The prices of things don't change every day with the exchange rate... I think

well im not a very smart guy, but when we travel down south we get robbed. your prices in the states arnt that much lower (number wise) for some reason. ex. i buy a lunch at the airport at burger king in the states and it costs me like 4.50. go up to canada and it might cost you 6.50. im not sure how this works but all i know is when i go to the states i lose my money very fast and when relatives come up from the states they talk about how cheap everything is (compared to how much they make). that probably made no sense and it didnt really have much to do with what you were talking about, but i felt liek taking a break from my damn home work ive been working on for 3 hours

It's coz the US dollar is WORTH more than the Canadian one. So it will cost you more Canadian dollars to buy the same amount of American dollars. I think it's gay though, all countries should use US dollars, and get paid the same amount as people in America, and 1080s should be 10 bucks and ski passes should be free!!

its because the canadian dollar is worth less than the american dollar. example: something like 6 pesos(mexican) = 1 american dollar.
