Alpine trekker Bindings

I am looking at buying a pair of alpine trekker bindings.

These are the atachment you put into your alpine bindings to enable you to free heel when hiking.

I have heard a few bad things about them, as well as good things, and was wondering if anybody can offer me a review on them.

I do not want to buy specific bindings, hence the reason for the trekkers.

I am able to buy them cheap off a mate, so any comments will be much appriciated.

they arn't as bad as people make them out to be, they are heavy but if you're not a moron you can be very ginger on them, I have been on a TON of long trekkers including mountaineering trips on them. they have never ONCE popped out on me. Make sure you adjust them correctly and dont stomp around on them like they are welded into your binding and you will be fine. I'd rather have a nice alpine binding when I get to the top of a gnarly face then any A/T setup in the world.

This shows how much I know, but I was designing this very product this winter (in my head) thinking it would such a great idea for people who don't want an AT binding. oh well, guess i'll just buy a pair.
