New Skis and Wax

i've always hotwaxed my new skis, but some people tell me that you really dont need to cause they come out of the factory with wax. if there was wax on them out of the factory wouldnt it wear off pretty fast? let me know. i just got 03' pocket rockets, if the type of ski matters.

They do come out of the factory waxed, but I still hotwaxed mine. The wax probably wouldn't come off upon delivery cause they are nicely wrapped in plastic... but who knows.

the wax from the factory is only there to protect the skis bases during shipment. Hot Wax your skis again when you buy them. Use Purl Wax.

first get a wax remover and scraper and take of any factory wax you can then go ahead and hot wax them.
