My ipod was formatted for windows but....

now i'd liek to transfer my music to it from my mac, but itunes doesnt see it...is there something i could download to format it for mac or something?

im pretty sure you can only use ipods with PC, or Mac, not both at the same time.
so if your only going to be using mac to put songs on. search for a ipod updater for whatever operating system your using.
ive heard though that you can use both mac and pc if you go into itunes and click import library or something something something.

if its formatted for windows it should work with both, but if its formated for mac, it wont work with windows. i dont understand why.

you shouldn't have any problem using a Windows-formatted ipod on a Mac... it must be something to do with your firmware.... update it and see what happens...

restating the above statements that are correct:
1) if you formatted on windows, that mean you can only update your ipod on a PC, but you can transfer files from a mac or PC onto your ipod
2) if you formatted on a Mac, that means you can ONLY update, and ONLY transfer songs from a Mac....gay huh?
oh, it all has to do with stealing music if anyone cares..silly reasoning though..

HAHA, there is a way to use your iPod with a PC and a Mac at the same time..
Just plug it in, switch to manually updating and there you go... Works fine with me!
